Spoilers Arrow - Season 4

Man, this show sucks now.

But, after seeing how terrible LoT is and how mediocre Flash has become, I wonder if it was really all that good to begin with.

This was a boring episode. I like the idea of Cupid but have never really cared for how the character has been depicted on the show. Nothing against the actress. But her motivation was a bit weak to me in this episode, though it got better by the end. I didn't care for easily she took out Diggle. They've got to let Diggle win some fights, sometimes.

I'm not a fan of Olicity so I just shut down a lot of times now whenever that is prominent. The court case was okay, I did like how the defense lawyer pointed out Diggle working for a 'broke' Oliver. That's something the show never really addressed. In part because the 'broke' Oliver never really looked like he was going without. Diggle could've rejoined by mentioning that his wife's job helped supplement the 'meager' income he got from Oliver, but I'm glad that the show did point out that something's fishy about Diggle's "employment", or would be to outsiders.

I liked that Felicity stuck to her guns and didn't fall back into Ollie's arms so easily. People can promise all they want, but actions speak louder than words and all of his point towards secrecy. Instead of telling her he can change, he needs to show her that he is changing. He can do that by doing what he began on their first official date, tell her everything that happened to him while he was on the island.

At the end of the show, I became even more convinced that the guy in the grave is Captain Lance.

:weep:

Two episodes ago: "I'm leaving."
Last episode: "I'm really leaving."
This episode: "I'm not coming back."

Wish she'd actually go somewhere.

The Queen Bee villain was a menacing threat to Ollie and his team, but if all she wanted was the technology to repair her spine, why didn't she just ask, like Felicity said? ;) I chuckled when they mentioned Cisco after Donna referred to the 'Bee Man.' "That was an inside joke. " Curtis made an excellent substitute for Felicity.

The success of Flash's "anti dark and brooding" tone, has seemed to push Arrow's powers that be to emulate it in hopes of gaining the love Flash received in it's first season. This is a mistake. The contrast between the two shows made both work. Man, could you even imagine a story like this happening during Arrow's epic season 2? Arrow was just fine the way it was. There's nothing wrong with the evolving and embracing the wider world that now is the Arrowverse. But this insanely goofball episode was mostly embarrassing, with pop culture quippage to the extreme. Grating as they just kept piling it on.

Can Barry travel back two years and warn Team Arrow not to ape his style? ;)

They should have had a quick scene where Oliver calls Barry for help and Barry says:
"Oh, I can't help you, bees are my only weakness."

Some funny moments with Lance and Curtis.

Didn't even recognize Emily Kinney. Doesn't look anything like she did on The Walking Dead.

Yeah, he totally did.

Curtis was great...but dis appointed that no one called him Mr.Terrific (he only used the word sounding disappointed about something)

And I am surprised no one mentioned the unintentional pun of Bee-con of hope that was used a few times

So either Captain Lance or Felicity's mom?

Larvan's self-conscious "bee" puns were silly enough on The Flash, but they were really weird to hear on Arrow. I mean, she's right out of Batman '66. It's the exact same way that Vincent Price's Egghead worked constant egg puns into his dialogue.

FTFY.

I thought the Queen Bee episode was great fluffy fun. I liked seeing all the ladies working together without any guys. I loved all the horrible bee jokes. I liked Mr Terrific joining the team.
