Arrow - Season 3

It's probably online for streaming on the CW website. While I doubt they'll reference each other (they may reference more than the first crossover), it's a good episode that actually includes some important plot points for Arrow so it's worth checking it out.

Given those plot points, I suspect they will include the episode in syndication packages, just like Homicide Life on the Street was included in Law and Order syndication packages.

Also I'm sure the Flash blu-rays and DVDs should the Arrow episode on them and the Arrow sets will have the Flash episode included.

It was a one time payment for $1 million to feign having a miscarriage, and departing Starling. Moira handed her the check during their talk. I'm sure Moira would have paid her out of some secret personal account, unconnected to the corporation. Only Walter would possibly be able to have found out about it during their marriage....and maybe Merlyn. If he had motivation.

Now how Sandra would have explained depositing a check that size would be her problem.

Depending on how she spent the money, she could have a higher net worth that Oliver.

And I guess after Queen Consolidated was renamed to Palmer whaterver I doubt he's gonna get the family company back anytime soon.

Unless Thea marries Ray, and then Ray dies?

But then, how much (Millions and millions obviously) would Ray charge Oliver just to get only the name back?

The future newspaper shows a headline of "Wayne Tech/Queen Inc. Merger Complete".

I am very curious about tonight's episode. So far this season has felt very flat to me. Maybe its suffering being compared to its younger sibling series The Flash. Which has the benefit of being new and having more mystery.

The flashbacks are not interesting to me at all this year. Malcolm has so far been sidelined.

I agree this seasons flashbacks are pretty weak, but I'm absolutely loving all the other stuff.

The problem for me is I don't buy the take Oliver off the island to China and train him for the use of some black ops unit at all. I rather he was taught how to become the Arrow in a different way.

I'd buy Oliver training with a black ops unit in China, if he actually was training. It seems most of the flashbacks have been him having quiet moments with that family. I was expecting to see Oliver learning new fighting techniques, how to use military tech, and how to fly a friggin plane. Maybe in the second half of the season...

He was taught how to become the Arrow in lots of ways. He's clearly more experienced now than he was before. At least this involves professional killers training him, which makes a great deal of sense (particularly since we already knew he wasn't on the island the whole time anyway).

The other week when they had him torture to gain information about the location of a bomb is a good example of how he was trained and his methods in the first season.

Well, they didn't wimp out and have Ollie win a fight he never could. I like that they're willing to go there.
I really feel sorry for anyone not familiar with the Lazarus Pit. They have to be freaking out right now.

As far as I remember Ollie had one formal archery lesson on-screen with Shado. I could be forgetting something, but certainly the training wasn't extensive - on-screen. I always assume that a lot happened off-screen. Same with Hong Kong.

They set up a situation, imply Ollie is doing "some" training with an expert, and then time goes by off-screen. I don't have a problem with that.

Looks like Ollie will need a little dip in a certain pit. Good episode all around.
For a couple seconds when the fight started I wondered if they were going to kill Oliver and use the Lazarus Pit to revive him, but then I blew it off and figured they wouldn't actually go that direction. It looks like I might be wrong.
I also kind of wondered if they were going to bring the Pit (or is it Pits? Are there more than one?), when Ra's made the comment about not being challenged for 67 years, he definitely doesn't look that old.
I loved the episode. I honestly never even though of Thea being Sara's killer, that was a big shocker. So I wonder if that was Malcolm's plan from the moment he started training Thea, or if he just took advantage of the situation after he started training her?
So I wonder if they are just going to have the small tech making up the A.T.O.M. suit be their take on "shrinking", or if they are still going to have Ray shrink himself once it's done? I could see him shrinking for the first time being a perfect cliffhanger. In the end of one episode he seems to disappear and the we start the next episode we start the next with the same shot, and suddenly we zoom way in to a shrunken Ray in the suit.I've read several comments about the producers reconsidering their stance on superpowers on Arrow after the crossover with The Flash, so it does seem more likely now.
I did love Felicity comment about this always happening to her when Ray asked for her help.
According this interview IGN did with Marc Gugenheim before tonight's episode, the A.T.O.M. suit isn't done yet, so apparently it'll still be a little while before we see it in it's finished form.

Has anyone else noticed the last couple of "flashbacks" have been redundant? Tonight's episode talked about the votura plant twice - once in the current timeline and again, in Hong Kong, 5 years ago. The Arrow vs. Flash episode last week both shed perspective on Oliver's capacity to commit torture. Is it all a coincidence, or are the events of 5 years ago happening all over again to Oliver?

EDIT:

NOOOO!!!!

The fight between Ra's and Ollie wasn't really epic. It didn't look like Ollie even put in his best effort. It made me wonder if he lost on purpose.

Merlyn is such a scumbag for using the votura on Thea to kill Sara, thereby manipulating Oliver to face Ra's in a death match. If and when Ollie comes back to life, he should kill Merlyn.

Yes?

Fool me once, y'know?

His flashbacks almost always mirror the present day story.

Learn an important lesson in the past, and then implement that knowledge in the present.

It's the formula.

Sigh.

I'm feeling less and less like Ray Palmer is going to shrink anytime soon.

Repurposed OMAC armour?

:(

One Man Army Corps for the uninitiated.
