Arrow/Flash Superhero Team-Up Spinoff In Works At CW

I just saw that link on Twitter. Weird. Two possibilities - Creative decision to change the approach to Firestorm or Amell is not interested, wants too much money.

I think the spinoff takes place pre-Flash and pre-season 3 Arrow.

Sara had met Sin, and spent some time with her. I think it's during this time that Sara will be on the show.

Professor Stein's work might be in play/development, when he connects with some of these guys.

i'm still hoping this is an anthology....each of these heroes sharing stories of their early work

No, Berlanti says in the article that it's a team story in the spirit of things like Ocean's Eleven, The Magnificent Seven, and superhero team comics.

Man, I hope you are wrong on this. I am pretty tired of prequels at this point.

They should do Ronnie and Professor Stein as Firestorm in an Odd Couple-style comedy...it would have to be better than the current Odd Couple.

Can two metahumans share a body without driving each other crazy?

This is no prequel. That would mean Ray Palmer has no suit and is not the Atom. They are not going to do that.

I wonder if this means that they're killing Ronnie Raymond off on The Flash.

Or maybe curing him, separating him from Stein permanently and having some other arc in mind for him (and Caitlin?) in the future.

Right. I daresay the prospect of having Brandon Routh headline as a superhero is a major factor behind these discussions. Before the end of season 2, before his wife was killed by Slade's goons, Ray was just a businessman, using his genius for profit rather than philanthropy or crimefighting. Doing a show about Ray before Slade's invasion of the city would be like doing a show about Bruce Wayne before his parents were murdered, or about Peter Parker before he got bitten by a spider and lost Uncle Ben. There's no story there.

(Although it's true that there was a time when The CW ordered a pilot about Dick Grayson before his parents died. But that show never materialized, so the network should've learned its lesson.)

LOL!

I have no real ideas. The comments on the 3 new heroes being new to television seemed to rule out even characters who appeared on Smallville. Not sure if that is true for this villain or they just mean not used on Arrow or the Flash?

I would like to see Vandal Savage. If that time traveler hero is Rip Hunter as some have speculated it would be cool to draw ideas from the Time Masters mini series in which they both appeared.

So the success of this show is riding on the Atom? Good luck with that.

Calendar Man! Killer Moth! Ten-Eyed Man! Kite Man! Condiment King! Marsha, Queen of Diamonds!
If they use Mr. Nebula and the Scarlet Skier, would Fox sue?

Can't wait until they greenlight that Inferior Five series...!
