Arnold in TERMINATOR SALVATION after all?

According to AintItCoolNews.

They report that Arnold Schwarzenegger will appear after all in the new Terminator film starring Christian Bale. Apparently the film will feature a younger version of the T-800 character in one sequence, and will be physically portrayed by Schwarzenegger double Roland Kickinger.

Schwarzenegger will provide the ADR for the character (dialogue replacement) and the special effects team will merely graft Schwarzenegger's face onto Kickinger's body. This solves the quandary of having Schwarzenegger appear in the film since his scheduling as California's governor prohibits him from actually working long hours on-set.

And to disspell any chance that this is possibly false (as many of you assuredly will be), there's a picture of Bale and Schwarzenegger on-set where Schwarzenegger did the dialogue replacement for the film.

Hey, Batman and Mr. Freeze all over again! :p

Cool. I'd be nice if they could do this once during the TV series as well. Makes them feel more official than they already do.

Actually this was previously posted in a thread in August on the new Terminators in Terminator 4.

You should try to be nice anyway. ;)

You have already seen Arnold's terminator in The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The Terminator that killed John in the pilot nightmare sequence was supposed to be Uncle Bob according to the producers.

I read something about Arnold visiting set to give the crew a "Good luck" and I read something about the face graft, but I dunno...I find this report a bit dubious. Honestly, it seems like such a needless task to CGI his face on the Arnold look-a-like who was hired because he looked like Arnold in the first place. If they were going to do that, they could have hired any old muscle man. And does Arnold really need to dub in the voice? I mean, I know his voice is somewhat distinctive, but still...

I'll wait for an official report before I fully buy into this.

This tidbit about Schwarzenegger applying his face and voice to the film is new, I believe.

No, I had posted around the time of ComicCon that his face was going to be digitally imposed over Kickinger's face. TerminatorFiles revealed it then.

If so, this is the first I've heard of it, and the first that it seems to be legitimized to some degree.

Do you have a source on this? Just curious because the dream-sequence Terminator was not credited that way, or dressed like Uncle Bob, or accented, or anything else that led me to think this.

I still don't have very high hopes for this movie, but I have to admit seeing the younger Arnold from the first Terminator again would be kinda cool.

I've heard this news/rumor already, but to see it voiced at another site (even if it is AICN) is interesting. Maybe it is actually true?

Every time the spell-check police do their thing, does an angel get its wings? :-p ;)

As for Uncle Bob being in the pilot, okay, I guess. I'd have to watch it again to see how I feel about it, but at the time I didn't think it was supposed to be Arnold (though I do recall noting they'd found a guy with the right body type to play an Arnold-esque model Terminator).

The terminator in the pilot was the same as one of the security guards at Pescadero. You could see this on the tape that Sarah nabbed. This was intentional according to the writers. It was not Uncle Bob.

Anyways, this grafting and voice over stuff is dumb. The guy looks enough like him that I'll just accept him as is.

^ Which is odd because I specifically remember reading that it was meant to be Uncle Bob back around the time of the pilot being leaked. They may have changed it though when they were officially picked up for a 'full' season.

I still think - despite they're trying to avoid stunt casting - if we ever see the events of T1 or T2 in flashback they'll try to get a name to appear as the character.
