Arnold in TERMINATOR SALVATION after all?

^ Which is odd because I specifically remember reading that it was meant to be Uncle Bob back around the time of the pilot being leaked. They may have changed it though when they were officially picked up for a 'full' season.

I still think - despite they're trying to avoid stunt casting - if we ever see the events of T1 or T2 in flashback they'll try to get a name to appear as the character.

Well it wouldn't really be stunt casting, would it? To cast someone who originally played the character. Although I suppose in some ways it'd be MORE consistent to have someone different what with Sarah and John being different. Terminator is such a confusing continuity :p I have to admit, in the pilot I did think not having Arnie there was a shame, but I wasn't surprised or disappointed in any way.

^ The producers themselves are calling using anyone from the previous films stunt casting and say they aren't going to do it. There was an interview with Friedman from the beginning of the summer on TerminatorSite and he says that they aren't going to bring in anyone from the films to appear on the show (specifically he mentions Linda Hamilton, Michael Biehn, and Robert Patrick).

It's possible that this was really their intent... I'm not sure. The fact that this guy looks so different from Bob and looks just like the security guard is probably proof enough that they changed their mind somewhere along the line.

Obviously they won't be using any of the original cast in SCC, but it's always possible in T4 because of the technology. But the fact that John and Kate have been recast says that we might just be seeing Kickinger as recast and not just a body for a head to be grafted onto. The Linda Hamilton rumors are interesting, but I get this "These are the Voyages" feel from that, y'know? I'd be fine if they recast her.

Rumor has it they're going to do a flashback showing The Sarah Connor Chronicles version of a key scene in the first film. Maybe we'll get to see what T-800 looks like in that episode.

This'd be cool, and, unlike the ridiculous de-aging effect in X3, sounds very plausible. After all, the T-800 barely emotes... I have high hopes for this. At his age, a digital Arnold face could be better than new footage of the real thing.

I agree with you on that.

Then he can play Dieter Von Rossbach.

Dieter Von Rossbach was the name of the CSM-101 skin template in the Infiltrator series of novels.

I loved that novel, but he's too old to play Dieter. He's too old, really, to do anything but minimal voice work for short, CG-rendered cameos.

^ Why? Arnold is in his early 60s at the moment. The character of Dieter in the novel is explained to be in his late 50s in Chapter 5.

Huh. Well... I guess I don't see Dieter being interesting post-Judgment Day, then.

^ I don't remembering him being interesting either. I honestly think that he disappeared in the Future War book for more than half of it.
