After the AFL folded, some remaining teams, the af2 (minor league version of AFL) and some new teams have created ArenaFootball1. Terrible name, but I'm excited. I followed the Georgia Force the past few years, but they've folded. There is now a team in Hunstvile, and I'd like to go catch a game. The NFL network has picked up a few games.

Anyone else have any interest in arena football?

We had a minor league AFL team in our town, and I went to one of the games. It was...cute.

Our motto for them was, "They're trying so hard to play football!"

The Force were pretty good. I had to watch the "game of the week" every week though, even when the Force were actually being televised somewhere else out of market.

I used to enjoy the AFL back when we still had a franchise. I'd like to see a team return to Portland one of these days.

New Orleans had a short-lived AFL team, the VooDoo. It's not a sport I would be interested in watching on TV but the games were pretty fun to watch from the first few rows. The audience doesn't get to be that close to men clobbering each other in the NFL.

Apparently the "Arena Football 1" name has been dropped in favor of the more traditional name "Arena Football League".

I want to get involved in this but I didn't even have the energy to really follow the NFL...of course my favorite team is The Washington Redskins...but still.
