Are you excited about the Harry Potter release this weekend?

Harry Potter opens TONIGHT, Tuesday, in Melbourne Australia and I'm rather excited we actually get something first for a change.

Have to rewatch the other movies before I see it though.

I'm excited.

Kind of.

I'm full of excitement, sadness, and relief.

But I have my tickets for the midnight showing.

The last time I was excited about a movie was SW: Ep 1 and we all know how that ended.

I haven't seen a movie on release weekend since Return of the King.

ROTK was released on Boxing Day in Australia and I was in the crowd on that day.

We tried to see The King's Speech on it's first week. When we arrived there was a long line and my best friend got annoyed because we wouldn't have been able to get good seats. No-one in the line looked under 50.

I think I will wait until about the third week to see Harry Potter. I have seen all the other Harry Potter movies at the cinema but I only have the first 4 on DVD, so I guess that means i am less enthused by HP than I used to be.

Not really. Deathy Hallows Pt. 1 bored the shit out of me, I'll probably catch the next part on disc.

My family all rushed off to see the Fellowship of the Ring. After that we weren't in such a hurry. I think I eventually saw the other two on the big screen but only once the end of the run was close. I only discovered HP films last year when someone lent us the first 5 in a boxed set. They're not bad but I wouldn't go and see one at the cinema. So no, is the answer.

I saw the first part of this at the weekend, I thought it was murky and boring - I'm in no rush to see the second part. I've never read the books as I got a whole back-list of books for adults to finish before I start on reading kids fiction.

I'm excited the film's coming out, but I won't be seeing it in the theater, and the reason is simple: People are so fucking rude these days.

Have our tickets for a mini marathon...the first films, first half of DH and then the new one. Will be fun.

Not really. The last film (really, the first half of the movie we're finally getting to see the rest of this weekend) was a dreadful bore that sapped a lot of what was so delightful about the previous movies.

I'll probably end up going to see the series end, but I'm not really excited about the movie itself.

I thought Part 1 was boring, too, the first time I watched it.

However, every subsequent time I watched it I thought it was brilliant. There's a lot more going on than I realized the first time through.

A little. I really like the ideas of the books, but I thought the last book was extremely poorly written.

And I know the movies have a lot of young talent, but I wish the written word was as strong as some of the acting talent from the extremely talented older supporting cast.

I enjoyed Part 1 quite a bit, so I'll probably go see this when it opens. (Not in 3D, though. Transformers 3 was the last chance 3D had to impress me and it failed.). I've seen all the others at one time or another and liked them all, so I figure it's time to finally see one in the theaters.
