Are There Remakes You Like More Than Their Originals?

Interesting question.
- I like the George Reeves' Superman to the Kirk Alyn one.
- I like Peter Jackson's King Kong better than the original. (I still like the original, but I like the new one better)
- I like Antonio Banderas' The Mask Of Zorro better than any of the previous ones.
- I like Batman Begins better than the previous Burton and Schumacher films.
- I like the '59 Ben Hur better than the silent era version.
- I like the '70s The Omega Man better than the recent I Am Legend.
I'm sure there are others if I think about it.

Halloween 2007 and Bram Stokers Dracula 1992 come to mind. So do The Fly 1986 and Superman 1978.
Ugh. It was a chore to get through. Only good thing was Carpenter's music.
Who mentioned The Italian Job? 
The original beats the remake by a mile in my opinion. It's an absolute classic. As is the original Planet of the Apes, I didn't care for the remake at all. However, even if it had been a good film I can't imagine anything surpassing the Heston version. Same goes for the Italian Job.
I preferred the new Thomas Crown Affair, although the '68 version is very good, I've never been a big McQueen fan so I have to give it to Brosnan.
I've never seen the other versions of Last of the Mohicans but I absolutely adore the 1992 version. It's such a beautifully shot film and the score is fantastic.

I was one of the about two or three people who have already mentioned liking the New Italian Job better.

I like the new TCA on it's own, but I've never seen the original and I very much want to.

--I like nuBSG way more than the original, to the point of teetering obsession.
--The Spielberg version of War of the Worlds, which pleasantly surprised me by being tense, thrilling and very exciting.
--The '78 version of The Fly.

--Bear & Brendon McCreary's cover of "All Along the Watchtower."
--Ewan MacGregor's version of "Your Song" from Moulin Rouge. The original was good, this was amazing.
--Any cover of "Brown Eyed Girl." Seriously. This'll probably attract hate, but I don't see what's so wonderful about the original version.
