Are the Ones That Dislike This Movie Generally TNG/DS9/Vgr Fans?

I agree, TNG and it's spin offs were so stale compared to TOS, fans of those shows are likely to not enjoy the new movie as much. This new movie is back to the basics of TOS action/adventure and action/adventure was something TNG had very little of.

I'm a TOS and DS9 fan primarily.

I had several issues with the movie and felt it failed on every level other than that of a 'popcorn' action flick. My room mate isn't a Trek fan at all and shares my view.

If you think STAR TREK was just about action and adventure then you watched a different series then I. It is possible to have those aspects and also a plot that makes sense and makes the audience think a little. TOS (and the other series to a lesser extent) did it all the time.

I was a TNG/DS9/VGR fan and I liked Enterprise's 4th season but found most of the first three seasons of Enterprise mostly boring and uninspired. DS9 is equal to TOS as my favorite Trek series because of the characters. But I started watching Trek with TOS reruns and loved the 23rd Century of both TOS and the TOS movie-era. But mostly I just love the characters and love that the movie has brought them back. At the same time, I think TNG should have another movie itself.

I'm a TOS/TNG/DS9 fan, and I liked it just fine.

Only part that irritates me is the idea that all of those series were discarded, and Enterprise, the one most deserving of that treatment, wasn't. Obviously wrong, but still irritating to see the desperate Enterprise fans clinging to it.

Who cares? The movie outright mocks Enterprise. It would have been one thing if Scotty had mentioned Archer and Kirk had grabbed his heart and gushed, "My boyhood hero!" Enterprise got no respect from this movie and that's just how it should be.

I like all of em, so um yeah.

I did start with TOS though, but I wasn't around when it was on. I was born in 1979 so I missed it on TV. A friends house I stayed at as a kid, his father had every episode recorded, so I watched it, and liked it.

Then when TNG came out on TV I watched that, then DS9, then Voy then Ent. I didn't like Ent, but I did like Voyager actually.

Anyway, I love the movie, and I love TOS, TNG, DS9 and Voyager.

I like everything, with TNG being my least favorite. I have been watching Trek since TOS reruns in 1976, though the first Trek I ever saw was The Doomsday Machine in its first airing (scared the crap out of me as I was 5). I consider myself a DS9er if I have to pigeonhole.

I loved the film. I don't think you'll find a trend as to who hated it. A lot of folks just balk at the new timeline idea regardless of which series they loved the most.

I'm 25 and a TOS Trek fan but I do like some of TNG, DS9, and VOY. But I don't see how this Trek gets rid of that it's just creating it's own future.

Major DS9 and TOS fan here. But I like all the Trek series to some degree. I'm 25.

Oh, and I love the new movie. :)
