April Trek Art Challenge - Flux Capacitor

Well, I had a couple of ideas for this month..and they keep on coming so I may have some additions to this...so I thought I'd post the two I have and see which get the best responses.

First up, I thought I'd see what a scene in 2001: ASO would have looked like had we been aboard Enterprise instead of Discovery.

Or...what if someone else had been cast as David Bowman?

Help me decide!

Flux - FWIW, I prefer the first entry. Perhaps to give it a little more connection to Trek, you could sub in a shot of the damaged Enterprise as we saw in ST III when she is returning to Spacedock and instead of that great big station, use the rotating station as Spacedock.

Another idea that just hit me is to use the 2001 Space Station as the Office Complex we see in TMP when Kirk and Scotty take the travel pod over to the "Big Reveal" of the refit Enterprise.

On the second one you would always add a line under Shatner's face (there appears to be room) that says, "My God. It's full of stars...."

Either is great though. Good blending of both styles. :techman:

Very nice! I like the first one better; something about the color tones reminds me of a Vincent di Fate painting. :bolian:

Except that in the film of 2001 Bowman never says that line. In fact, his last line is when he's trying to convinve HAL to let him in. He says nothing else for the remainder of the film. That line is from the book and 2010...it is not Kubrickian canon. :D
