anyone watch The Guild?

I love the show, got into it earlier this year when I just randomly discovered the episodes on Xbox Live. I do think some episodes this season have been a little slow, though.

I agree with you on that last bit. Will Wheaton and the rest of the new gang I like very much, but the story seems to be progressing kind of slow compared to that of last season. Hopefully it'll reach a nice conclusion, they did a good job at that with season 2.

Also, you should all watch the music video "Do You Wanna Date My Avatar?"

To Felicia Day, my answer is yes, I want to date your avatar. Moreover, I want to take her to the movies in a month or so to see Avatar.

Is that episode +10 For Bravery the last eppy of Season 3 or is there going to be more Season 3 coming? You'd think for 5 minute episodes they could do more at a time... ah well its still fun. Although when you think about it, they can really cram a lot of story into 5-7 minutes.

And I totally agree about that "Do You Wanna Date My Avatar?" song - although a 3 way with Codex and Tinkerbella would be :D fun... Tink's a bitch, but well that's what they invented gags for ;)

Season 3 is still ongoing. In fact, episode 9 just came up yesterday on MSN video.

Has anyone seen this week's episode (Wit's End) yet? I thought it was great, maybe this season's best yet.

And the ending was fantastic.

I stopped watching awhile ago because I gave up WoW and completely forgot about this, but maybe I'll give it another go. I didn't like how the episodes were so short, though.

Each season does feel more like a single episode when viewed in succession. I wonder what The Guild might've turned out like had it actually been picked up as a 30 minute weekly TV program.

I started watching it after I stopped playing WoW and it probably made me enjoy it more ;)

I know everything on the show is very exaggerated, but the kind of basic archetype of each character are very familiar to me from when I raided in warcraft.

Granted there wasn't anyone tracking down someones address and moving into their apartment declaring their undying love, but I've had guild leaders who were like Vork. I've played with mom's who were like Clara.

I've seen plenty of female guildies act like Tink and have guys fawning over them like puppy dogs and getting in game stuff out of the and obviously run into a lot of young teenage players who like to use pwnz a lot like Bladez.

I guess the Codex type is probably more rare in WoW in it's a female player who is apparently a good player, but is single and not trying to be an attention whore in game. I've played with some really cool female players who were like that, but I can definitely say they were in the minority.

As to the seasons of the guild, I think I enjoyed the second season the most. I haven't really found season 3 as funny as the previous seasons.

I'm still surprised that someone hasn't picked it up to be a full out series. I'd think it would fit exceptionally well on Adult Swim or something.

The length of episode seems to be fairly common for the format. Other online comedies (The Legend of Neil, Red vs Blue, etc) use similar episode lengths.

I like it, but it's a bit girly (which I guess makes sense, since Felicia writes it). I really didn't care at all about her crush on the stunt man in season 2. I haven't watched any of season 3 yet.

yeah, the 15-minute runtime would be better suited for the guild

Apparently they've been approached about doing that but Felicia Day doesn't want to lose the rights to the show.

In that case maybe it's better off in its web existence. TV show might = watered down geek writing.

my season 1 and 2 dvd bundle (14 dollars on amazon!) just arrived and i watched all the cast and producer commentaries. The guy who plays Vork is hilarious in real life.

I just discovered this a couple of weeks ago. I love it. As other people mentioned, I too know so many Claras, Tinks and Bladezz-s. Especially Claras.

The only thing is, it makes me want get into online gaming again. I am too suggestible (and broke) for this shit. :D

Poppycock. Robot Chicken is probably the geekiest show that's ever existed and it's on Adult Swim.
