Anyone Remember An Anti Pollution Commerical Featuring TAS?

Dayton3

Admiral
It showed the bridge of the animated series of the Enterprise with all the usual characters at their stations.

Sulu reports something approaching the ship at Warp Six.

Kirk orders Red Alert and the main viewing screen activated.

As a seen of obvious junk and debris appears Spock reports that we are seeing the ___________ pollution belt (don't remember the name).

Kirk says that this was "before people started pointing out pollution".

Spock says something like "Yes Captain. People now get the point".

And of course the animated series background music was there.

I wonder if this is available anywhere?

Yeah, I remember that one and the one about the Girl Scouts' fitness program.

McCoy: "I'm recommending it for the entire crew."

I've never seen these anywhere else. Don't know if Kail had anything on his site, but on Curt Danhauser's Q&A (#35), he says the segments may have been made, but as far as he can determine, never aired.

Which is weird because at least two people here remember them clearly (you've got the dialog down almost exactly as I recall). It's a shame they couldn't have been included on the DVD release.

Yep, I sure do remember it. Almost as memorable as the crying Indian anti-pollution/littering ad! -- RR

I don't remember the one about the Girl Scouts but I definitely remember seeing the other about the "Romulan pollution zone" as you described. It was aired on the same station in Chicago that carried the TAS shows in syndication back in the late 70s. I think it was Ch. 32. It's a Fox station now but back then it was either a Kaiser Broadcasting Station or a Metromedia Station when it was still an independent station.

I vaguely remember both of those spots, but have never been able to find a copy.

While not exactly OT, this reminds me of a copy of "Mr. Peanut's Guide to Ecology" I once found, from the 1970s.

Did it end with this shot??:
