Anyone here NOT seen Nemesis?

I've seen it more times than I care to remember. I've even learned to stop hating it completely.

I watched it twice. The first viewing was at a movie theater, and I found myself staring at my watch, wondering why it hadn't ended yet. And no, I hadn't read the script prior to watching the film.

The second time I watched it was on a DVD that I'd purchased, deciding to give the film a second try. The movie still sucked, and I haven't watched it since.

While this wasn't the first Star Trek movie I saw in theatres, ( I saw TUC in theatres), this was the first I saw at an old enough age to really appreciate the story and not just the ships and battles. I have to aside from the ending battle I'm really disappointed in Nemesis, I think Frakes should have had a go at it. The Scimitar while cool seemed too ridiculously over-powered, though the new Norexan class Warbirds were done very well.

Oh and I'm watching it now on AMC and I'm also disappointed the Federation Fleet they were meeting up with never appeared.

You've watched it. You can't unwatch it!

I loved Nemesis on first showing, but I was on my own in a new city and was a bit excited at just about everything. Saw it again a week later and was less enthusiastic.

I'll admit to having never seen it -- INS left me with such a bad taste in my mouth that I couldn't stomach the idea of shelling out $8+ dollar for a NEM ticket...

Even more so after I heard how contrived and silly the basic plot points sounded.

Cheers,

Similarly, how can I know I won't enjoy food poisining if I never contract it?

So you are saying that its not good for someone to form their own opinion but instead go with group-think and just hate the movie without even seeing it?? The movie is not THAT bad that their is nothing to enjoy. Its not among the best Trek movies but there are of least some scenes that are good. I just think most Trek fans would of least be curious to watch the movie once (even if its on TV so they dont have to spend a dime) if only to form their own opinion on it.

I like it. It´s actually a good movie and not just a big budget TNG episode like the first three films. I think that is why some hate it;)

You may find this review of it interesting:

(But there are some big spoilers in it.)

Matthew's a smart guy, but his taste in Trek is somewhat questionable. He doesn't like Voyager and doesn't acknowledge Enterprise's existence, but that's really just the basis for any meaningful criticism of Trek. He hated DS9's seventh season for all the wrong reasons and liked Nemesis for facile ones. Nemesis looks good and Nemesis has a story that desperately tries to be a cinematic epic, true--but Nemesis remains ten pounds of dumb in a five pound bag, that will insult the intelligence of not only those with Trek knowledge approaching the level of a Ph.D. in nonsense but even the casual moviegoer who simply happens to be paying attention to the film on the screen.

That said, it is enjoyable on many levels. It is a marked improvement over the interminable, hellishly boring Insurrection, it's actually probably not quite as stupid as Generations (and I say that with love, as I liked Generations), and it isn't the abyss of awful that is First Contact.

I'd recommend watching it, as others have, both to see if you enjoy it yourself, or, if you don't (or even if, like me, you did), see the flaming ruins of the original Star Trek franchise careen out of the sky like the Enterprise over Genesis.

I say watch it.

I watched it and thought it was brilliant. When i went online i was shocked that most people hated it. But its still good. Well, apart from the bit at the very very end, but thats just my opinion. Everyone should make up their own mind about it.

I hated Nemesis, but I loved The Phantom Menace. You can like things that most fans hate.

I haven't... I usually don't go to first showings anyway. But after a few weeks, I began to hear that it was one of the worst Star Trek movies. So, I left it alone and never got around to seeing it. I figured one day I'll download it or catch it on cable. Or should I just forget about it?

Anyone here not seen Nemesis and expect that they never will?

There were parts that moved me. I saw it in the theater. I recommend seeing it, but if you're a person who knows the TNG crew and series like the back of your hand-- you'll find yourself wincing at the complete disregard for continuity.

Having said that, I very much enjoyed Generations, First Contact and Insurrection. My only wish is that Nemesis wasn't last... it may have been more bearable with the promise of another movie. In fact, a lot of people didn't like Insurrection and I think it's TNG at its finest.

i've seen it a few times but it's still annoying...

i liked Insurrection ALOT more even initially...but i've learned to like Insurrection at least.....
