So when it's out, on opening night or otherwise, anyone gonna do a little cosplay? Vulcan Ears? A Communictor pin? Star Trek uniforms? Sombreros?

No. My regular clothes will do fine.
I never liked the whole "wear a uniform and go to the movies" thing and I will not start now.

And I think the less people that appear with badly made uniforms in the premiere, the better it will be for this movie and what it's trying to do.

We should all wear Sombreros. If ALL posters and lurkers from this board would do that, it should be worth a headline or two with the world wondering what that's about while at the same time it would be interesting to see who else visits the TrekBBS. :shifty:

I’m not going to wear anything special. I may take a light up Star Trek badge and wave it around like I am at a rock concert before the movie starts though. ;)

Sombrero. And if you want one, try your local "Dollar" store. Most have them in stock for Cinco deMayo. I'm trying to find a solid color one, so I can paint in a recurring Trek delta pattern around the brim. I may even add goggly-eyes.

I plan to dress up as a person who punches the face of anyone who wears a stupid mexican hat in an act of fanboy masturbation.

Sombreros are tall hats that would be either a pain to keep on one's lap or in the way of people sitting behind you (even in stadium seating).

Sombrero folk: get over it guys. It was never funny. Certainly not the exact same, erm, word a year later.

I am going in civies, but my symbiont is wearing a sombrero and vulcan glue on ears.

The people still having fun in the Blue Warp Nacelles thread disagree.

People who live their "lives" in their parents basement will find anything fanboyish funny.

Although you'd think after doing nothing but using the word sombrero for a year, people would grow up, but clearly not

They'll have a time time when they face the real world.

Or you can get over not finding it funny and let people have there amusement. I do hope trek ppl keep it down to a minimum so not to put off any casual viewers to bring in much needed $$$.

What to wear..Darling!!!

So...I am planning on going to the 12am showing with my wife (and in IMAX). We are going to, for the first time since we have been married, wear our star trek stuff...what that means is my new captain kirk shirt and her very shapely Uhura outfit...and she has the legs for it; oh yeah!!! (not to mention the..ahem..rack)....

Are any of you going in gear? Or will you go as a normal person???
