People who live their "lives" in their parents basement will find anything fanboyish funny.

Uh-huh.

The medical community is rejoicing that the world's first humorectomy was a success.

Unforunately they also had to amputate his decency. :(
Okay, I think that will be quite enough of this month's installment of the 'Kpnuts Doesn't Think Your Sombrero Is Funny' Show. It gets about the same mileage as the folks who stop in regularly to inform the rest of us (in tones of imagined superiority) that they still think the movie's an abomination and they still aren't going to see it.

The first time around, okay, that's great, but after a certain number of repetitions, it simply stops being news any more and starts to look a lot like baiting. Responding to it in kind really isn't a whole lot better. Knock it off now, please.

I kinda want to dress in something resembling the all-black outfit Kirk's wearing in part of the film, because it's kinda subtile - even looks like street-clothes at first-glance.

(Unfortunately - I currently live in a very humorless part of the rural midwest where nobody else would be likley to also be in costume - and anything unusual to the locals limited experience is started at.)

I already have a black mock turtle-neck - I just need the black pants...and I need to figure a way to create that patch outline on Kirk's.

And I pre-ordered a toy movie tricorder and I'm hoping it comes in time.

Baring that, I'll *at least* wear my communicator pin & maybe I'll hunt up a TOS blue uniform t-shirt...

I don't think I'll go in a uniform since, well, I don't own one, but I'm definitely going to wear this:

If anyone else comes to my theater wearing a sombrero, we MUST do the following: Bash our heads together and yell "SOMBRERO TWIN POWERS, ACTIVATE!"

I'm not "dressing up" as such, but i'm going with 2 mates and we're doing colours - 1 red, 1 blue and 1 yellow.

Not overly Trek, but enough for us :)

I'm hoping the gold shirt from Kellogg's comes in time. If so, I will wear that. Barring that, I'll be wearing the black promo T-Shirt that a friend sent me from when he was at Comic-Con (with black pants to complete the all-black Kirk attire).

Or, I may wear the shirt I made (I took the wallpapers that were posted on here, and shrunk the Command insignia to the right size, printed it to an iron-on transfer and put it on a yellow T Shirt - I did one with Services for my daughter onto a red shirt, since she's an Uhura fan).

I don't even know what the sombrero joke is, but I'm going to wear one now just to annoy the guy who is annoyed by people wearing sombreros
WARNING: Viewing the Blue Nacelles thread without proper protection is not advised. No drinks or food in hand: it WILL be spilled while laughing uncontrollably.
I will wear a fez just to be a nonconformist.
You heretic! :guffaw:

I like that idea. "I like subtle, it's exciting!"

Could it be any worse than farm country in the South? I have a long sleeved black t-shirt. I think I will wear that with black dress slacks. (Around here that is considered formal wear.:rommie:) Thanks for the idea.

I don't do costumes or uniforms outside of Halloween or local conventions, but I hope some of you do. It'd make for some amusing photos!

maybe my mobile holo-emitter and a com badge on a black tee is about the most your gonna get out of me....

I own several TREK shirts I bought in the mid-90s that I rarely wear anymore. One has an awesome, brightly-colored screen print of the TOS Enterprise with a day-glo planet in the background and part of the Shatner narration from the classic credits.

I was originaly going to go in costume(gold uniform badge 'N' everything, including the new playmates toys ''away team'' replicas, the phaser, tricorder, communacater) but then I realized that I'd look ''less'' like Chris Pine KIRK, and ''more'' like John Belushi KIRK! (From The famous SNL skit)

If I weren't a poor college student and had $ to buy a shirt or something than yeah, I'd consider dressing up to show my Trekkie-ness especially since I am planning on going to the midnight showing.

But as it is I have no apparel or accessories to wear. :(
