I personally prefer the more generic formulation "attention whore," but this is nonetheless the correct answer.

They know it annoys the Trek OCD contingent. Sometimes they deliberately call the character "Doctor Spock," too, or run photos of the Enterprise upside down on purpose.

There's something strange about the idea of a "wannabe Trekkie." Isn't that kind of like being "an aspiring social leper?"

Nicely done, and lovely inset. Notice, however, that Sarek's thumb is still flared outward abit, as opposed to the Faux Trekkeurs who insist on bending the thumb back toward the palm. Take note of this wannabe, let's be sure and keep her as far away from Trek as possible:

SENATE BILL 49

AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49,
Chapter 6, Part 10, relative to education.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE:

SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 49-6-1005, is amended by adding
the following as new subsection (c) and by relettering the existing subsection (c) accordingly:

(c)
(1) The general assembly recognizes the sensitivity of particular subjects that are best explained and discussed in the home. Human sexuality is a complex subject with societal, scientific, psychological, and historical implications; those implications are best understood by children with sufficient maturity to grasp their complexity.

(2) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, no public elementary or middle school shall provide any instruction or material that discusses sexual orientation other than heterosexuality.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law, the public welfare requiring it.

So, in elementary and middle school, teachers cannot discuss sexual orientation other than heterosexuality. It's not really the word "gay" that can't be said; it's the concept that can't be discussed.
