Any Xena:WP fans on the boards?

Oh, I'm not saying the WW plot was good or bad, just that since getting to the pilot stage isn't even a "given" that you will be picked up, merely getting a writer and producers and acknowledged interest by NBC doesn't mean it will definitely be on NBC's schedule.

Oh, the way you said NBC "weaseled" out of WW it sounded to me like you were mad they didn't pick it up.

I feel like the drums for a Xena reboot are booming, with the new trilogy of Xena books Greg's colleagues are writing, with this comic series starting and now you can find Xena not just on Hulu and Netflix, but also on the "Heroes and Icons" digital broadcast net. :bolian:

Of course, I've never heard of them before... but every little bit of exposure is good news, as far as I'm concerned. ;)

It's nice to see that the show is coming back in re-runs and streaming as well.

I think it's safe to say that Xena has finally returned!

In the fever of a possible reboot, Aol has rediscovered X:WP for one of their "where are they now" segments, but their video montage doesn't :brickwall: include Lucy's AvED. (At least their print article mentions it, but gives it as much play are her one-off in Agents of Shield. )

Its funny what you run into when you google Lucy.

Like Star Trek actors, she's now forever destined to be.... a question / answer in the crossword puzzle. (The Star Trek ones are the only ones I can consistently answer when my mom asks for help on Sundays, ;) )

There was an even funnier more risqué link to Leslie Ann Brandt's new TV series Lucifer, but I didn't want to get a warning for sharing Leslie's choice for "weirdest thing she's ever done on screen". :alienblush:

If only he would turn the laptop around so we could see what he's writing!

I have no idea who any of those people are except for Jena Malone (Saved!)

I do have my own pick for Ares though: Jay Ryan. He looks a lot like Kevin Smith. But he's busy doing Beauty and the Beast.

As for the comic, I like the purple-yellowish cover the best.

Is it April yet?

Ummm, if you don't mind the language (f bomb galore in the 2nd half), this is a pretty funny video on XENA's opinion ( ) of TPTB rebooting her series. It's from Bit@h of Rome Entertainment, the youtube channel that did all those 20th anniversary vids I posted last September.

Here's a different video that seems to ask "why mess" with a winning team?

Ah, the "Cliff's Notes" version of the last official (Creation Ent.) Xena Convention Feb 2015.

I guess I'll have to look for an AvED con to catch Lucy "live".

So... if Supergirl, She-Ra and Xena were in a WWE fight, who would win?

"You can't use her. Here's a list of 5 other actresses.... and they all turned it down. Thank-you!"

I'm not sure if Xena would hate the idea of a reboot. While watching Xena episodes with Gabrielle in "Send In The Clones", she enjoyed Lucy's portrayal of her. But you never know...

Vanessa Angel became ill and was unable to travel. There was another actress who was cast as Gabrielle (Sunny Doench) but she didn't want to move away from her boyfriend.

As far as I'm concerned, the right people were cast.

My computer was being stupid, so I don't have access to a link right now, but Comic Book Resources announced that the comics will take place shortly after the Twilight of the Gods story arc. The article also has an interview with Genevieve Valentine, the comic's writer.

Oh, too bad. Not surprising, but I was hoping for something set more post Season 4, pre-Xena pregnancy (although I didn't consider it likely). Will probably skip the comic, then.

I'm not a fan of the Twilight of the Gods arc either but I'm so starved for new Xena content that at this point I'll devour almost anything!

I can't imagine how ravenous I'd be if I had watched the finale in 2001 like everyone else.

Its Xena.

Its LUCY's Xena.

Of course I'll read it! (Need a "duh" icon but cheers will have to suffice for now. ;) )

Here's the link.

Here's an interesting excerpt for fans of the early years.

Many of the supporting characters are out of the picture at this point in the timeline, so is your plan to focus mainly on Xena and Gabrielle as the leads here?

Xena and Gabrielle are definitely the focus of the series (they'd have to be!), but the beauty of Xena is how much the past still plays a part in the present. A lot of what happened before the time jump comes back to visit them in some unexpected ways, and they find themselves coming up against characters old and new who are straddling that divide between past and future.

If the comic is successful and the reboot moves forward, I wonder if we'll end up with two different versions of Xena coming out on a regular basis?

Xena on "screen", Xena drawn on paper... and don't forget, Greg's colleagues are coming up with a Xena book trilogy.

After such a long drought, we'll be drowning in Xena goodness.
