Any word on a Blu-Ray release..?

Does anyone know..? Now with Amazon obtaining the International rights, I fear a physical release will be at least a year away....... if ever.

I would imagine right before season two airs.

I have a theory that it'll be in the spring, possibly early June. I base that on that being when the Short Treks DVD/Blu-ray was released last year, so I imagine we'll get Lower Decks around the same time, with Disco season 3 taking the fall release slot that has been held by the first two Disco seasons in 2018 and 2019 and the first season of Picard this year.

Just baseless speculation on my part and should be treated accordingly. There is no official word on release yet, but it's a safe bet they'll do one. At this point it'd be more surprising if they didn't given the Short Treks got one.

It was one year outside the US for Picard. So Americans will get it first, everyone else will get it January 2022.

Nice that they're still doing old school physical media. Will definitely get the blu-ray of this. Will be interesting to see what kind of bonus material – if any – they will put on there. Features on the voice cast and the writers are a given I suppose, but what I would like to see is how they went about designing the characters and the ship.

Outside the US won't get it for a year, if Picard and Amazon's one year exclusivity deal is anything to go by. Or maybe they don't think LDS is worthy of such a thing?

If they bother releasing anything I hope they don't decide to skimp on it and make it DVD-only because animation or whatever. What's the point of that when the streaming version will be better quality.

No doubt there will be people importing the US version months before the UK for instance release is out.

It's not like this show is going to get a massive extras package is it. We'll be lucky to get the ten episodes and maybe the handful of trailers they threw together.

The international sale of first-run "Picard" came with the standard "12-month video holdback" (just like happened with TNG, way back when). I would assume the same for an international release of home media for LDS (that series also, eventually, sold to Amazon Prime).

Animation on Blu-Ray seems to have sales longevity, so I doubt it will be ignored.

This would be good to have since I cancelled my streaming subscription for the time being.

^ Nice! This looks pretty cool. Would have loved audio commentaries, but what we're getting looks interesting. The animatics and cast interview especially. The cover design rocks, too …

Amazon Prime has in 1080p at least over here too I think.

Why would CBS's own service be in such low quality? Just so they can add a selling point for the Blu-rays?
