Any smaller lines that gave you goosebumps?

Just after McCoy and the "Yeah, tell me something I don't know line" was the "Shuttle 889, USS Enterprise, you are cleared for launch" gave me Goosebumps. I guess it was just the USS Enterprise line on the big screen again...

Not strictly goosebumps, but I was pretty much the only guy on opening night in a full theatre to laugh out loud at the red shirt (beer was served though..)

Scotty: "So you're from the future then? Tell me: do they still have sandwiches there?"

At the end, when Kirk was in the gold uniform, strode onto the bridge, and channeled William Shatner so perfectly when he said, "Bones..."

For some reason, that moment tied the two casts together for me. As much as I may joke about Shatner's tendency toward hamminess, there's no doubt (in my mind anyway) that the man created an indelible cultural icon--heck, in so many ways, he IS Star Trek--and there was Chris Pine carrying it forward for a new audience.

George Kirk: "Are our shields even UP?" It's in the background, but it scares me. And I pretty much treasure anything George had to say or do.

Yes! I agree completely.

But "Bones!" is a BIG line. A very big line; a majorly big line. Everybody loves that line and scene.

I think this thread is supposed to be about the smaller-in-concept ones, by the topic post -- not meaning literally shorter lines.

I know; I wasn't thinking about short in terms of one word. That just seems like a smaller moment to me among all the big, loud stuff. Picky, picky, picky, Jeri...;)

Okay, here's another one, then. When Winona Kirk has given birth to the baby, and she says (paraphrasing), "George, you should be here," and George has this tearful look on his face and we see him barely mouth the words "I know." His "I know" is the moment that makes me cry every time I see this movie. It was so beautifully underplayed, but it just wrenches your heart out. I've said before I'd watch an entire movie about George Kirk, and even after eight viewings (to be nine in a couple of hours), I feel the same way.

ETA: Just got back from watching it again. To my surprise, George doesn't actually mouth the words--you can see it all on his face, and he looks like he's going to say something, but never does. That's some awesome acting from Chris Hemsworth, because he said so much with his expression. And of course, I still teared up.

That is a fantastic goosebumper!

Instead of "I know", I wish he would have said "I am." Or maybe that's too overplayed.

Yeah, made me cry like a baby in the theater.

One of the goosebumps lines for me was when Spock was being interrogated by the head elders of Vulcan. After hearing his mother declared as a handicap, Spock ended the scene by saying "Live long and prosper" but you can hear the anger in his voice when he says it.

A great scene played very well.

Sarek's "I married her...because I loved her" line.

And the reveals of the Kelvin (first "Starfleet" thing I saw in the movie that told me it's really a Star Trek movie) and when we see the reveal of the completed Enterprise at the space dock. Jim Kirk sees his future and he's about to barf the entire time.

ETA: It just hit me (if David Mc Coy's story remains the same) that each of the "main three" have lost at least one parent by the time they all meet in this reality. :(

Folks, please -- may I point out again that this is not a goosebumps thread, but a "smaller lines that give you goosebumps" thread.

I'm not the OP, but I go along with him/her that I'd like to hear some of the more hidden gems. We all know the big ones, ok? :)

[In an attempt to keep it moderately spoiler free...]
Captain Robau's "Walk with me." Just in the way Faran Tahir delivers that, how weathered and hardened and stern his voice is, I could tell that he had misgivings about giving in to Nero's demands but knew that it was probably the only way to buy the Kelvin any time against a ship so powerful as the Narada.

Having avoided as many clips, leaks, etc. before seeing it, my first impression of nuTrek was that it was going to be mediocre story, thin character knock-offs, but really cool ships-blowing-up scenes. With that one line, with the look on Robau's face, I thought to myself, "holy crap, this is the real thing...AND really cool ships-blowing-up scenes!"

One for me that didn't hit me until I viewed the movie the second time was when Spock (Quinto) boards the Jellyfish. The computer announces that the ship was made by the Vulcan Science Academy in a year that is in the future for him (24th Century date, I don't remember what exactly what the year was though). Quinto's Spock seems surprised by this news, but I realized later it was more than just surprise that this ship was from the future.

The Vulcan Science Academy--which was just destroyed in front of his eyes along with Vulcan--had made this ship in the future. It must have been so strange for him to hear that ship was made in a future where Vulcan still exists, and Vulcans who made that ship, most likely were killed or will now never be born (in this new timeline of course). Anyway, something about that just gave me goosebumps when I saw it the second time.

Agreed, it's not often that LLAP can be translated to FOAD. :) Well played, Quinto!
