Any other country getting a Who marathon over Christmas?

For the second year in a row, New Zealand's Prime TV is playing The Christmas Invasion on Xmas night then Season Two in it's entirety on Boxing Day.

They do know there are two more seasons right?? :)

Whoa...whoa...whoa. Nevermind the Doctor Who marathon. New Zealanders get a "Boxing Day"? After Christmas you guys all box each other? Sounds cool..

In the states, Sci-Fi shows Who seasons exactly once, and then there gone. Never repeated. Fortunately, some of us get BBC America and eventually get a rerun. But a marathon? nope. We'll get a marathon of Ghost Hunters or Lost.

Except for when they are--like "The Christmas Invasion" this morning, the rest of S4 on Thursday mornings for the next few weeks, and most of season 2 on 23 January 2009.

Anything coming for the UK? BBC3's replaying Series 4 through the week, but anyone know if there are any channels (most likely of the UKTV variety) that ae playing any classic Whoness?

They do rerun them. Just not in the normal Friday night slot that they are run the first time. They have been running them late night/early morning lately and about once a month they do a marathon for a day. 9am-4pm.

On Christmas Day, BBC America is showing The Christmas Invasion, The Runaway Bride and Voyage of the Damned back-to-back-to-back starting at 4 pm ET. These will be the versions edited to fit a 1 hour with commercials slot, however.

Aha. I see that now. Too bad I never see this stuff advertised on the channel. If I hadn't looked on the website, I'd have never known. I still take issue with Sci-Fi for showing lot of these encores of very popular shows on weekdays while most people are working. WCW, reality programs, etc keep me tuned out of prime time most of the time. I'd like to see a BSG WEEKEND or a Dr. Who WEEKEND sometime. Even if I set up a tape, I only get 6 hours. Thursday mornings don't thrill me much when the weekend schedule is full of crap. The Friday BSG marathons drive me nuts, too.

No Who marathon here in Canada that I'm aware of. We certainly won't see one on CBC, who sat on S4 for five months and aren't even showing the Christmas special (no surprise there, really).

Did they ever end up showing Voyage of the Damned? I ask only because I haven't damn well seen it.

I don't believe there is any such Who Christmas episode marathon (or would that be a mini marathon) being shown in Oz.

Can't wait to get the new Christmas episode direct from the "rift" on Boxing day. :)

I won't be seeing The Next Doctor but David Tennant apparently stars as Dr Who in the Xmas special of Extras, which is on tonight.

Nope, they never did show VotD. I only just recently saw it when I bought the S4 box set. I couldn't even find it on YouTube, where I watched S4 this summer after giving up waiting for CBC.
