I'm new to the Star Trek community, but not really new to Star Trek. I do know a lot of people who have completely submerged themselves in Trek since the movie came out, though. Part of the reason why I decided to join the forums and stuff.
I suppose considering all the completely new people, I definitely chose the best time to get involved.
I've always wanted to learn to read/write Vulcan or something. Klingon doesn't appeal to me...

Ori'jate! (Very good!)Heheh. I know *some* Mandalorian, but it's all written, nothing spoken. It's the up and coming Star Wars language.Yeah... Don't speak a word of Vulcan (yet). LOL. Well, I can proudly say "kiss my *ss" ("e chuta") and "bantha fodder" ("bantha poodoo") in Huttese, which is the extent of my sci-fi/fantasy language skills.

), but I consider it fantasy rather than sci-fi (which is a source of debate between my husband and me). For some reason, I had the idea that Star Trek was cold and technical. I had no idea TOS was so light-hearted and character-driven. I had no interest in the new movie until multiple people told me how much they enjoyed it. Now I'm dying to see the next installment!
