Any Dead Zone fans out there?

We just recently acquired the whole series on DVD, and we're just about half-way through Season 6. I'm not at all sure how we missed seeing the show during its original run on USA, but I've greatly enjoyed it now. A great cast, really good story-telling and an ongoing arc that keeps you coming back for more. What's a pisser is knowing that a seventh season was planned, but it got cancelled because of ratings. So I'm guessing that when we get to the final ep, it's going to be a cliff-hanger.

Anyone else enjoy this series?

Never really got into the show. Loved the book back in the 80s, though. The show was on too eratically for me to catch it and keep watching. Might catch it up again one day.

I enjoyed the first few seasons, but I thought the show went downhill when it dropped the Christopher Wey arc and became more episodic. I also wish they had kept Dana Bright. She was a great character.

Kristen Dalton was smokin' hot, and I'm not usually one for redheads. She had an interesting relationship with Johnny and I was bummed when she just kinda disappeared, until her one ep in Season 5.

Anthony Michael Hall had indicated in interviews after the show as cancelled that there could be the possibility of doing a TV movie in order to give the show a resolution, but that was three years ago, so it doesn't seem all that likely now.

She exuded confidence and sophistication in everything she did. That's a big part of what made her sexy and that's what I liked about her. Her departure was a real loss for the show.

I have a vague image of the final scene, but I don't remember how the show ended. At that point I was just watching to finish it out. I had long since lost interest, so I can't say I care either way about a TV movie.

I also enjoyed the show for the most part, though the last couple of seasons weren't quite as good. It was also nice to see Nicole de Boer on my TV screen each week again.

I watched the show up until about mid-season four, at which point I dropped the show because it had turned into all sorts of horrible. I was very disappointed, too, because the show had been damn great in the first couple seasons.

I absolutely LOVED the first two seasons, I never missed an episode. I got about midway through season three before I dropped it completely. The quality just wasn't there anymore.

This show never had an ending before it was canceled did it? That sort of kills off any interest I might have at seeing it.

Of course, I probably wouldn't have checked it out in the first place. I'm not a fan of cop shows.

I enjoyed seasons 1-5 to varying degrees, but something about season 6 just never sat right with me. Plus...

Spoiler: the finale

The worst thing a show can do is to get cancelled on a cliffhanger. From memory, The Dead Zone does the second worst thing...wraps up everything ridiculously quickly. It felt as though they knew they were being cancelled only a week or so before they made the final episode.

I have to agree that this show started off great and kinda ended up with a whimper but I enjoyed the entire series and thought Anthony Michael Hall did a wonderful job! It was fun to see him on Warehouse 13 recently and I hope he's in more genre shows soon!

I have to agree with the general consensus that the show started out great, but went downhill in later seasons. It was really good in the beginning though.

One of my all time favorite episodes in a tv series for me was the episode where Johnny goes looking for clues to a huge meteorite that will destroy the area, falls into a cave and sees the Native American with the same talent looking at him in the future. That episode was amazing!

Having now just watched the sixth season in its entirety, I have to agree with Tosk; the two-part finale did seem rushed, as if they knew at the end there would be no seventh season and they tried to tie up as many loose ends as possible and give it a reasonably decent ending.

Problem is though, they re-opened that original can of Whoop-Ass regarding Stillson and we'll never get to see how that plays out.

All in all, I found Season 6 to be a bit up and down. The arc about Walt's investigation (and Turner's investigation into him) was interesting, but a number of eps just felt average or even a bit lame. Turner was a cutie though; it was cool to see her eventually warm up to Johnny and his abilities.

At some point, we'll watch the series again, just to see how much foreshadowing there was in the beginning that might not have been readily apparent upon first viewing.
