Antony & Cleopatra

I'm so sorry! You're right to focus on having gratitude for such a thoughtful sister but still, ouch. :(

Sad sad tale . . . My older sister(by three years and two months, EXACTLY, as she says) bought three two tickets one for me(since she knows I've loved Kate since I was nine) and one for herself. Well, she didn't tell me before she bought them so I had no way of stopping her so I could double check with my doctor if it would be OK to fly seeing as he kind of is keeping me from driving. So she told me last . . . . Thursday and I immediately scheduled a doctor's appointment . . . . that was today. He says that he doesn't want me to fly since "I'm still getting blood transfusions" and he doesn't know what the sudden change in elevation will do to me. So, my brother-in-law is going in my place. I'm babysitting their two children for when they go. And I have spent the better part of the day crying because my doctor told me that he doesn't want me flying until after the New Year. :(

She's still going to tell me EVERYTHING so I have the best sister in the world for thinking of me. So that's the good part. :D

Wow thats a great sister you have!! Too bad you can't go :(

I hope you feel better soon!

Thanx! And isn't she? I will forever remember watching Bride of Chaotica! with her and she kept on closing my mouth because I developed my first girl crush watching Kate as Arachnia

IMO, the moral of this is, even though I have absolutely NO regrets, after your eleventh . . . No . . . Twelfth miscarriage, when your doctor tells you to give up and allow your husband to get the vasectomy that he's been trying to convince you to allow him to get DO IT, and at the same time get your tubes tied so there won't be any accidents. DO IT!

But I have no regrets, just a little bitter. :) But when I get my report from her on everything she remembers the world will be better. Or it will be better now . . . My baby just woke up and is smiling up at me. :luvlove: :adore: I'm a sucker for him. :) And to be honest, I don't think I would have gone. I couldn't be away from him.

I think I just want to know how many times my brother-in-law complains on the flight there and before it starts :D

Well, I saw Antony & Cleopatra this weekend and had a ball. I need to THANK vas2009 for her intell on the best place to sit in the theater. I wisely took the aisle seat out of my group of 5 on her advice, since my Auburn Queen frequently ran UP and DOWN that particular aisle during the ep.

(Alas, my olfactory sense is not as keen as my younger counterpart's, so I can't confirm if the queen "smells" delicious. )

vas2009 and her husband entertained me Saturday morning, and I thank both of them along with their new friends for a fun morning before the play began.

As for the play, it was great, and Mulgrew's physical antics belied her "advancing" age. The fact that she was running up/down the stairs barefoot had me in great fear, especially as I heard an empty soda bottle rolling around behind me. ("Good Gawd, don't let Mulgrew slip and crack her head open next to me!" I prayed. )

I wanted to go back and hang out at the stage door that night to get her autograph, but my friends wondered about the "stalking" laws  in Conneticut and talked me out of it. I am SUCH a wimp! :scream:

I have, however, discovered another way to get her autograph. Just donate to the Hartford Stage "Cleopatra's challenge" and they promise to send a photo with both actors' (KM & JDT) autographs. :)

vas2009, thank your hubby again for being such a good sport. There's not many men who can hold their own against 6 women. He's a keeper! :bolian:

That sounds fantastic JanewayRulz, you're so lucky. Really wish she'd do something on the West Coast one of these days. I'd love to see one of her future plays :) Grrr I hate being a student :D

Yay J'Rulz and Vas! I've been thinking about y'all this weekend. I am glad that y'all got the chance to go and that you had a good time. :)

My goodness how did that poor man survive!? ;)

God only knows! :guffaw:

Its funny, when I went to my first Trek con 10 years ago... I learned I didn't know ANYTHING about trek trivia, because I couldn't answer any of their questions during the trivia contest. Not even things about Voyager!

This weekend, I met someone at the theater who puts MY Mulgrew fan credentials into SERIOUS doubt! I sat through 1 showing of A&C, and this fan had just sat through her 2nd of multiple planned showings of A&C this month.

I am SUCH a piker!

(For the youngsters on the board, that means I'm an amateur! )

Hey AMG, we talked about you! vas2009 was "wishing you were here" as we talked Trek.

firecrackerrr, she has done stuff on the west coast. Keep your eyes peeled, or check out totallykate.com frequently.

:guffaw:OMG i so said out loud what the heck is a piker!

I WARNED vas last week that I was "old", and she can attest to the truth of my statement! (Thank God for Brit, who can still make me feel young! ;) )

Oh, and before anyone asks, I DIDN'T wear a red rose behind my ear so vas could recognize me.

I wore my blue HOJ T shirt to breakfast.

That's a nice review, but jeez! The article from the other week said Janeway was captain of the starship Enterprise, and this review says her first name was Elizabeth. I realize these are theater people, not Trekkies, but it's just sloppy not to check and confirm basic facts. You're getting paid to write this stuff, people. Do it correctly.

*end rant*

J'Rulz, do you realize you're getting into the habit of using the  smiley when discussing KM? I approve wholeheartedly, of course. ;)

LOL!

Don't even TRY to go there, AMG. As I said above, I'm a PIKER when it comes to KM worship. The lady who's seeing "Antony & Cleopatra" more times than all the live Shakespeare plays I've ever seen together in the last 35 years (yes, longer than you've been alive, don't remind me :wtf: ), would tell you I am WOEFULLY inadequate. (ETA: I am much older than 35!)

As we came out of the play, she was asking me and my cohort whether Mulgrew had a wardrobe malfunction during Marc Antony's death scene and I said "Huh? Didn't notice."

I feared she would die at the horror of my glib statement.

Of course, after chatting with you and vas and even more so Admiral H (where is she, by the way?) these last 5 months, I am QUITE aware that the "drool" icon will not be inappropriate for my "fellows" when referring to the divine Miss M.

( ;) Apologies to Bette Midler! :guffaw: )

I'm glad you guys had fun. All of the posts today have made me laugh.

And who doesn't use  when talking about Kate?

Well . . . Seth MacFarlane doesn't, that's for sure.
