Ant-Man: Info, Pics, Rumors, Casting and Details till release

This teaser didn't really excite me that much. I'm not familiar with Ant Man, but I'll give Marvel the benefit of the doubt. I was extremely skeptical about Guardians of the Galaxy and it turned out great, so Marvel has earned my confidence. I do want to see more though.

"Is it too late to change the name?"

Perfect. That takes some of the nerdiness out of it for the general audience.

I think ol' Crap Bag will do a good job in this.

I don't know how anyone can think they'll extrapolate the plot of a movie from any trailer, much less the first teaser. It's a teaser. That means, "Stay tuned, more to come."

I hope the movie has a good bit of humor to it, like Guardians. If they try to play it too straight I'm afraid it'll fall flat on its face.

Pretty much everything director Peyton Reed and writer Adam McKay have done up to this point have been comedies, so I have a feeling it should have a fair amount of humor in it. But then again, the Russo brothers were best known for Community before they did The Winter Soldier, and that was one of the darker MCU movies.

You ask a hundred (straight) women if they want Chris Pratt to pull off comedy or pull off his shirt, and every single one of them is going to say Pull off his shirt.

I hate women.

Well, *now* they want him to pull off his shirt. Before Guardians? They'd be like, "Ew, no! Let him tell a joke!"

Does Paul Rudd have the chops to pull off comedy? Might be a bit of a stretch.

Huh? The majority of his movies have been comedies. That's like asking if Chris Pratt can pull off comedy.

I'm thinking you missed the intent of humor in that post.

It wouldn't be the first time a comedic actor tried to move into drama, but that's not what I meant.

What I meant, and maybe I could have stated it better, was that I hope they don't try to play the silliness with a straight face. You know, like Adam West Batman or The Naked Gun. It's gotta have some "wink wink nod nod" to it or it won't work.

"I want you to be the Ant-Man."
"Oh. Is it too late to change the name?"

That gives me some hope, but I'll wait and see. ;)

So, wait, Pym wore the exact same suit as Lang will? I kind of figured that Lang would get an updated version, and when Pym was Ant-Man he'd have worn a more retro style suit, not the exact same thing. Even with the technology level obviously being different in the MCU even in the past, it looks too advanced. That's nothing more than a nitpick, though. Its not a big deal, just a bit unusual.

^ Maybe the suit doesn't actually appear in the movie's flashback scenes? And the comic book artist didn't want to / wasn't allowed to design a new retro version of it?
