Another Stereotypical Best Season Poll

Your favorite season is...

I always think about how I rank the DS9 seasons but I really don't know how to Rank the VOY seasons. What I mean is my DS9 rankings are pretty much the same, but I've never really given it much thought about voyager. Might as well take this thread to come up with a bona-fide ranking. From Favorite to Least Favorite:

Season 4 - Where the series hit the high point

Season 5 - After watching on DVD, I realized how much I like this season, other than Janeway's inconsistency

Season 1 - Very nice start with some great episodes and guilty pleasures like Time and Again

Season 6 - Very uneven, even though Memorial and Blink of an Eye and One Small Step and Pathfinder are three of my favorite episodes

Season 2 - Nice try with the Season long storyarc and other great episodes, but it was mostly hit or miss

Season 3 - Even though it has my favorite episode, Before
and After in it

Season 7 - Endgame brings this season down a lot

Season 5 - After watching on DVD, I realized how much I like this season, other than Janeway's inconsistency

I'm not sure if you're agreeing with me or not, but let me explain. The worst case was her actions in Counterpoint, and then reprimanding Paris for almost the same reason in the very next episode. Here Janeway helps these telepaths, which is pretty much a violation of the Prime Directive, but then when Paris does it, Janeway get's on her High Horse. It just didn't buy it and was a bit angered at that fact, even though Both Counterpoint and 30 Days are episodes I do like.

Also, I really didn't like her in Night. That was not the time to be moping around her Quarters when the Crew needed her. Maybe this is not an inconsistency, but it just screamed wrong to me and brought the episode down a lot.

S4 gets my vote but I actually really liked S5, S6 and S7 almost just as much. Hell I love the entire show....should've picked it's hard to decide....

I really really liked Night. I don't understand people's hatred for that episode or, specifically, Janeway's attitude in that episode. She's a human being with real emotions and though she's most likely stronger than most, depression can still happen even to someone like her. I get that the crew needed her but when they truly needed her she did show up. I think she needed to bathe in self-pity for a little while to see the light. Sometimes you really do have to hit rock bottom before climbing back up. So it'll never make sense to me why people hate it. In fact it's always been one of my favourite episodes because it gave Janeway some depth. I am not a huge fan of S1-S3 Janeway because she's all smiles all the time and over-enthusiastic about everything. Considering where she was and how she partly blamed herself for it, I expected at least something that would show how SHE is truly dealing with it. Nada. Till Night.

That's all well and good, but there is a time and a place. In a situation where the crew needed her the most, she isolated herself for a long period of time and what does that do to moral when the mother figure does that? What does it do when she talks to no one, and in the time of need she isn't there. That's not a sign of a good leader, and in Janeway's case, a good caretaker, as the character was kind of written as.
