Announcing STAR TREK: DTI and other CLB news

It all sounds interesting. I'm looking forward to this one myself. Can't wait to see what's in store and who and what we will see pop up.

Correction: about half a kilometer north. A kilometer north would pretty much put it in the Thames.

Haha. I seem to recall someone once worked out that an address for Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, as mentioned on "I Love Lucy", put their apartment building in the East River.

Lots of shows use fictional addresses, for the same reasons they use fictional phone numbers (with the 555 exchange). Or fictional police precincts. The reason Barney Miller, the WB's Tarzan from a few years back, and Castle are all set at Manhattan's 12th Precinct is that it doesn't really exist. Or it used to, but hasn't for a long time.

^Nope. It was the 12th.

Captain Barney Miller (Hal Linden) tries to remain sane while leading the NYPD's 12th Precinct's detectives...

Another "go-to" fictional entity used by a lot of shows and movies is Oceanic Airlines -- a name that was popularized by Lost, but that predated it by years, showing up most prominently in the movie Executive Decision and in various shows that borrowed stock airliner footage from that movie.

^I didn't know that, I thought Oceanic was made up specifically for Lost.

Did we ever settle on a Who song for this?

Eminence Front.

Not because of the subject matter, I just love the song. :D
Thank You for this suggestion. I'm not the biggest Who fan in the world, but have always enjoyed the songs picked for the various CSI series. When this was suggested, I had never heard it before, but on an act of faith in this board, I downloaded this onto my phone...and I LOVE IT! I think it's perfect music to "open" DTI!! :bolian: I CANNOT wait for this book, but since I have to, listening to this tune in the meantime is a PERFECT way to make the time go by faster! It is a TON of fun imagining the kind of opening montage from DTI that would be accompanied by this music...I can just see Dulmer and Lucsly running around investigating temporal anomalies and then interacting with the other characters that Christopher is going to come up with to fill out the DTI. And it will be even more fun to actually read the book when it comes out now, with this playing as I read! Thanks again! :)

STAR TREK: DTI! A Quinn Martin/Paramount Pictures Production!

Starring Jack Blessing! Also starring James W. Jansen!

With guest stars... Berlinghoff Rasmussen... Captain Braxton... and Future Guy!

Tonight's episode... "Watching the Clock"!

Yeah... I like that a lot. :bolian:
