News Annie Wersching will play the Borg Queen in Season 2 of Picard

If we can have Patrick Stewart (81) play a character in an android body, Brent Spiner (72) play an android in a series of dreams, John de Lancie (73) play an omnipotent being then we can have Alice Krige (67) play the Borg Queen.
Although, I doubt it's much of a stretch to assume that at 67, Alice Krige doesn't want to spend several hours a day getting into makeup and costume to be the Borg Queen.

EDIT: After doing a brief Google search for Annie Wersching, I found out she was on Enterprise in the episode Oasis. Here's her Memory Alpha page.

In which series bible does it say that?
Having a Queen makes the Borg vulnerable, since as we saw in FC, her death takes out the entire collective (the ones on the Enterprise, anyway).

Literally the only reason the Borg have a Queen is for the viewers at home.

I'd like to know if that's the case.

And? What does that have to do with casting a different (younger) actress?

Uneducated guess: She doesn't show up until the tail end of Season 2.....BUT they are going to show a shot of her in the trailer next week on the 8th for Star Trek Day........and God I hope it isn't with the line......."Hello again Locutus"........Maybe its just part of the Q "A Christmas Carol" plotline?
Could be shades of A Christmas Carol and "What If?"

But I think having her only show up at the very, very end of Season 2 and also in the trailer (if that happens), would be like if the Enterprise would've appeared in an advance-trailer for DSC S1 when we only see the ship at the very end.

And somehow I doubt you cared when they recast the Borg Queen for Voyager back in 1999. I didn't know you back then, but call it a hunch. You're only insistent now because it's Picard doing the recasting and you don't like PIC.

I suspect the Borg Queen probably doesn't age as fast as a Human. That's probably why they recast.

It's also possible that Alice Krige and Susanna Thompson had other commitments or were otherwise either unavailable or not interested. This is Hollywood. And not only is it Hollywood, to them Star Trek was just another job. A lot of actors like to branch out and do other things, instead of what they already did.

"I'd like to hear that from them!" You're probably not going to. Sorry. That's just the way it is.

It's entirely possible that Alice Krige simply had no desire to sit for hours in the makeup chair again like she would have had to when she was younger.

Actually from what I read back then it seemed like Krige was out of their price range until Endgame and casting another actress didn't have anything to do with age as some suspect here.

Data doesn't age. Picard's new body is a year old.

Please, don't dude on me, when your examples both aren't as convincing for me as you may think. Of course, in Data's case, it was a dream/simulation, but when it comes to Picard's new android body, I never bought the explenation. In fact, I think, that this transformation of Picard into an 'old android' was one of the 'not-so-clever' ideas at the end of season 1 (although by far not the dumbest).

Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner and John De Lancie didn't appear and aren't appearing in a full head prosthetic and a costume that was so tight it was painful and caused their bodies to swell. That was Alice Krige's experience. While Krige loved the role, she HATED the costume and make up and she was in her 40's when she first played the role. I can only imagine that she would be much less enthused wear prosthetics now that she is almost 70.

They might've needed a younger Borg queen because they're meeting her in the past.
