Angel's Lorne, Andy Hallett has died

33......that is just way too young!
Loved the character he played on Angel!
Rest easy and thanks for the good times.

A brilliant tribute video from Angel writer/producer Tim Minear-

"He's nothing but a muscly midget"

They missed off one of my favourite Lorne lines:

"I thought Our Lady of the Perpetual Sea Breeze was the real deal until the Divine Miss J walked through that door and into my ass."
<pause>
"That's where my heart is. Anatomically speaking. I can show you on an x-ray if you want."

Angel shot on the stages next to ours (Voyager/Enterprise) on the Paramount lot. I got to know Andy as he allways walked to and from his trailer. Andy would tell stories of how he would go off lot in makeup for appointments and the reactions or lack of he would get in Hollywood. He was a class act all the way. Rest in peace Andy.

That was nice. Lorne had so many great moments. Hallett was really a natural at the comedy, but he also shone in the dramatic pieces they gave him every now and then.

Charisma Carpenter has also spoken about his passing, telling tvguide.com that "Andy was a beacon of love and laughter".

I love that. That seems just like something he'd do.

Thanks for sharing this.

I've got this sitting on my desk right now:

I met him at a Wizard World convention a few years back. A very sweet, down to earth guy. Always smiling and chatty.

Aw dammit, no.... :( :( :(

This is terrible. I remember hearing about him having heart problems a few years ago; I didn't hear anything after that, so I hoped that meant he was doing better. Only 33? Way, way too young.

I always loved his portrayal of Lorne... such an entertaining character.

R.I.P. Andy, and thanks for the memories.

In lighter news though, Alyson Hannigan & Alexis Denisof celebrated the birth of their first child last week

So congratulations to them

:(
*pulls up Angel soundtrack and plays his cover of Lady Marmalade*
I'm listening to track 24, his version of "It's Not Easy Being Green"
Makes a very sad song with the news, but beautiful too
Listen to it Here, 5:35 in
EDIT- ooh, then track 25 Kim Richey's "A Place Called Home" (from the end of Shells) comes on after. Fitting
Thanks for the links, guys.
The things you learn on the TBBS! I didn't know any more about Hannygan and Denisof than about Hallett's health - or that he was so young on Angel. What a good job he did. It's infuriating how vulnerable we are to some health accidents (and accidents in general).

Lorne was many people's favourite character on Angel. This week I was watching still all-new to me episodes from season 5 and enjoying his character a great deal. He also had the best outfits - the way bright colours combined matched the green skin and red eyes... just fabulous. :)
(And I don't care if this is just a credit to the wardrobe -and makeup- department, I had to mention it.)
I still have a few episodes to discover. Man, it's going to be sad.
I already hated it to hear about Glenn Quinn. There must a curse on the cast of this show! :(
