Exactly what everyone wants from Star Wars: A show that has basically nothing to do with Star Wars, that could easily be transplanted into a modern day show with only a few slight (and mostly cosmetic) changes, and is just as badly written and boring as every other nearly identical "prestige" show that gets shat out every year.
I just want fun and adventure and characters that aren't dull, soulless flesh golems wandering around spouting monotonous bullshit and accomplishing nothing. At this point I'm apologizing for every criticism I gave towards Book of Boba Fett and Kenobi, at least they were actual Star Wars shows that fit in the universe and had interesting things happen. I hope they don't take the snobs praising this show as motivation to make more boring, pointless shit like this, thats really the only way that Disney could "ruin" Star Wars, by giving in to the people that never liked the franchise in the first place.
Are you going to do this for every episode? No one is forcing you to watch or participate. When I came to the realization that I fucking
hated ST-D, Picard, Prodigy, Kenobi (well, didn't even give it a second glace though Auralnaut's larry is damn funny), Book of Boba Fett, the Sequels, and The Mandalorian I simply shut up, reached over, and turned the channel. Worst thing it did was cut into my activity on the forum. We get it, you find it depressing and dull but this is how this stuff goes. Revolutions are bloody, gritty, sordid affairs with ilicit blood money and hot guns and sacrificial infantry units doing plots and plans barely worth the effort.
The main thing of a revolution IRL is them honestly staying to their ideals and NOT turning into authoritarian bloodthristy shits, and honestly, reality has shown they often do not resist the temptation. Stuff like the USA is the exception, not the rule, and the American revolution was full of terrorism, civilians being caught in the crossfire, spies, cutthroat diplomacy, hurt innocents. We just won so we don't care. Entire populations were uprooted and moved about, like the loyalists. If that happened today no one would let it down, and the more democratic elements of it were shot down by a mercantile elite core running the business, Thomas Paine was seen as a threat as much as Wiliam Pitt at times by Franklin and Washington, the vote was given to white men of age with land, and screw everything else as the states immediately rushed to the world stage in basically, a ill-fitting coat trying to keep their economies afloat.
Yes, this is exactly what I wanted from Star Wars. I was tired of stuff with meaningless (keyword- meaningless) fanservice and the force and everything. Andor is much more grounded and shows the reality of the empire.
Anyway, back to Ep 10. I loved it. Thats! That's how they got around the floors, with water. I was not expecting that but it's so obvious in retrospect. And ooh, Luthen has a deep, deep mole in the ISB.
Also: Re Aliens - well, we did see quite a few this episode. They're literally stuffed into the undercity. Which is, well it was the same during the Republic but now I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional.
