Spoilers Andor - Season 2

Or, rather keep Filoni characters away from Gilroy's work?
Filoni should keep his characters away from his own shows in my opinion. The cartoon characters ruined Madalorian for someone like me whk wanted a show about Mando and not just a backdoor way to continue the cartoons.

Same goes for Ashoka. It's not a new show but rather a new season of Rebels (or something like that)

I mean, Ahsoka really disappointed me because I was hoping for Heir to the Empire.

Counterpoint: What about She-Hulk? A show with a totally different tone and sensibilities than Daredevil, and yet they exist in the same universe and they have appeared in the same show at the same time. Jen just wished Matt into her finale because she had "taken control of her own narrative" and we are expected to believe that it is the same universe as the brutally real Defenders shows. He literally just plopped down out of the sky in costume.
Matt was on She-Hulk, a very silly show. She-Hulk was not in Daredevil.

See the difference?
Also, with the exception of Mon Mothma, none of the Rebels or Andor characters have appeared on screen "at the same time", so I'm not entirely sure what this point I supposedly made for you was.
:)

1) I'd call that a vastly misguided hope based on what led up to it. Like hoping for ribeye steak after a vegan invites you over for dinner.
2) If you're paying attention you'd see we are indeed getting a version of 'Heir to the Empire', piecemeal across multiple seasons of TV and one, possibly two movies.
3) 'Heir to the Empire' isn't really all that good. It's OK. It's fine. It's very influential. We can do much better.

I'll take cartoon characters over whatever this is.

They even had Ahsoka say the thing!
( Of course, HTTE as written isn't on the table; for one thing, Rukh is dead. )

That was only fair, after Cassian took credit for stealing the Death Star plans from Kyle Katarn.

Thank you. And it has been obvious from the very beginning that there is a lot of Kyle Katarn written into Cassian Andor, right down to the Bryar Pistol. And now, apparently, some kind of latent connection with the Force as well.

I still wouldn't mind another serious SW series like this featuring Katarn, who was an Imperial defector. That would put a different spin on it and give him a whole 'other' set of skills. All you have to retcon out is the DS plan thing, really.

The irony is that if they made that show, people would accuse it of being an 'Andor' ripoff.

Heir to the Empire was the first chapter of an almost perfect sequel trilogy. Believable villain who wasn't Vader, Luke wasn't superpowered, Han and Leia moved forward as characters, and we were introduced to Mara Jade and Talon Kaarde. A way to nerf the Force when needed. Fledgling, struggling New Republic. NOT AT ALL a rehash of the OT. Honestly, I don't think it could have been done much better.

I'm having a chat somewhere else where people are lauding Andor for being disconnected from fan-service and canon-fetishism and Glup Shittos, and I'm this close to pointing out Saw Gurrera (cartoon character) and Mon Mothma (prequel-movie deleted scene) are both Glup Shittos.
For that matter, so is the Ghorman massacre itself. That's "canon fetishism" going all the way back to the old EU.
