Mmm. Maybe, maybe not. He also knows how important Mon is to the cause, he wouldn't casually toss her away like so many others.

I think he needs Mon to be the face of the Rebellion because it can't be him. They need to aspire to be something better than the Empire and he sees himself as being too much like them. The Rebellion and any future government needs someone like Mon because she didn't have to make the same decisions that he had to make.

Hard disagree. Stories with different tones and sensibilities can and do coexist in the same storytelling structure. Guardians of the Galaxy takes place in the same universe as Daredevil. Mary Tyler Moore took place in the same universe as Lou Grant. M*A*S*H took place in the same universe as Trapper John M.D, ect;

But not at the same time. You're making my point for me. There's a reason why Groot isn't in Daredevil.

I'm not saying Rebels should never exist or that Star Wars can't have a differing tones across proejcts. The second best SW show outside of Andor is Skeleton Crew, but that doesn't mean I want Neel to show up in Andor.

Same with Dedra being raised in an "Imperial kinderblock" when she's too old to have been a child during basically any part of the Imperial era unless her Republic kinderblock switched to being an Imperial one just before she hit her 18th birthday (and she's a fair bit younger than the actress that plays her.)

This has already been adequately addressed by another poster.

First of all, StarWars.com says that Dedra was raised in what would later be referred to as an Imperial kinderblock [link]. So, we know that it was not so renamed while Dedra was there.

Secondly, essentially what another poster has said previously, it's not in Dedra's character* to acknowledge that her kinderblock belonged to a separate political entity from the Empire. She has to rewrite history, to imply that the Empire is one and the same with the Republic. Rewriting history is one of the things that fascists do. Otherwise, it would call into question the Empire's legitimacy, not to mention especially to draw a big red circle around the fact that she wasn't raised to be loyal to the Emperor.

I've been wondering if they have plans for Bix after Andor is over, and they did this to move her off the board and keep her safe until where she'll pop up next. Adria Arjona has talked in interviews about how much she loves playing Bix, so I'm wondering maybe she convinced the decision makers to leave Bix alive so she can keep playing the character after Andor is over.

Please this if Tony Gilroy is to do it.

It is depressing that Andor may be the last peak starwars content we will ever have and forever more it will just be typical Disney slop only.

Don't think Luthen has much say over Yavin. Not by this point.
By this time it seems the rebellion has taken on a life of its own and he is being sidelined.

The Andor adulation has become too exclusive for my taste now. I went and saw ROTJ with live orchestra and that film still moves me. I'd rather that than Andor at this point of my fandom experience.

I like rebels a fair bit, actually. But I also recognize it for what it is: a relatively light children's show. In terms of its tone and sensibilities, it is wildly different than Andor and, as such, it should be kept as far away from it as possible.

The tone of the shows themselves does not preclude character crossovers without hurting the tone of this show, given that everyone is at Yavin IV. The characters are not defined by the tone of the show they were in. Especially in a quick appearance, when now that the rebels are coming together. And Rogue End bookends A New Hope which have a vast chasm of tone in-between.

Connecting the dots to K-2SO felt more forced, and contrary to the tone of the scene, than some Rebels characters having interactions on base would – and given that they already got cameo'd in Rogue One – or being a contact on a mission Andor is on.

Mind you, I am not particularly a fan of seeing Ezra.

Spoiler: Rebels finale

Given that Ezra disappeared about the time next week's episode is set, seeing the Ghost returning to base with in sombre bittersweet mood after the liberation of Lothal, for example, would fit right in. Just as an example, I don't think it's a particularly useful addition to the show.

It would be nice if it got a mention, but it's not the only Rebel base we haven't heard about in the series. I think they're just avoiding throwing too much information at the audience.

The earliest you could possibly say Cassian was "in this fight" was when his dad was killed in 19BBY when Cassian was 14 and the Empire was very new.

Let's face it, Cassian, pissed off that he was denied credit for rescuing Mon Mothma, started making up wild stories to bolster his reputation in the ensuing years.
