I think they did okay with the Rebels nonsense, but the way they handled K2 was pretty forced. But it's relatively small potatoes in the greater context of this sublime tv show.
Why do you hate Rebels so much? Do you just hate animation in general or is there something specific about it that sets you off?
I hope the show doesn't contrive to kill almost everyone off simply because we never see them in the later films. Luthen will probably die, it's the way his story was always going to end, but there's no reason Bix, or Vel or Kelya or even Lonni can't get out of the show alive. It's a big Rebellion!
I've been wondering if they have plans for Bix after Andor is over, and they did this to move her off the board and keep her safe until where she'll pop up next. Adria Arjona has talked in interviews about how much she loves playing Bix, so I'm wondering maybe she convinced the decision makers to leave Bix alive so she can keep playing the character after Andor is over.
Also a tad unfair for Cassian to say "Welcome to the Rebellion" given Mon was technically a rebel long before he was! ;)
Yeah, that seemed kind of odd since she's kind of been part of the rebellion going back to when Palpatine was still Chancellor.
And to go back to the Stormtrooper thing, one explanation for why they're such bad shots that I've always liked is that they're not actually meant to be competent soldiers, they're just there look intimidating and show up in big numbers. So they're basically just shoved in the armor, get a gun put in their hands and are then sent out to do whatever the Empire needs them to do. It also explains why they armor is so useless, which has always bothered me even more than their poor aim.

Luthen would sacrifice Mon herself if he thought it would actually give the Rebellion the upper hand. Make no mistake, he's a brave man, but he's the most Machiavellian hero in the history of the franchise.
Mmm. Maybe, maybe not. He also knows how important Mon is to the cause, he wouldn't casually toss her away like so many others.

It's a cost/benefit thing. The better the armor, the more expensive. The Empire can't afford the best armor for all the troops.

But what they can afford is armor that forces enemies of the Empire to use weapons of a certain minimum caliber (i.e. of minimum energy or power discharge) to penetrate the armor. Notice that stealing weapons was important for the Ghorman rebels. Notice also that the weapons that Leia's crew used in the original film to repel boarders were not automatic weapons like what the stormtroopers had. They were single shot, at best semiautomatic, ultimately less effective than what the stormtroopers had.

That's my headcanon, and I'm sticking to it! ;)

Syril assumed, as many of us do, that we're the main character of the story,
Oh please. I don't assume anything, I know that I am the main character around here. ;)
How many times did Andor almost shoot Dedra? It was on the verge of entering Batman (66) territory "Some days you just can't shoot a high ranking ISB agent."
Yeah, that got annoying quickly. I actually screamed "Just shoot her already" though that was at the point where Syril assaulted Cassian. As they fought, I just shrugged and said "or move on, that works too."
I wish I had a time machine because it'd be fun to go back to 1983 and catch up with 12 year old me coming out of the cinema after seeing Jedi for the first time and basically telling him that the woman with the funny hair talking about Bothans would wind up one of his favourite characters in the whole franchise.

One imagines 12 year old me would probably laugh in my face.
Hell, as recently as ten years ago I'd question the mental faculties of anyone who told me Mon Mothma was on her way to becoming one of the franchise's most compelling characters.

In fairness, one failed attempt to shoot Dedra, and Andor's never getting another. Most of the times Andor had Dedra in his scope, she was behind the glass right? They established that he would perhaps need two shots to penetrate the glass. So, she had to be standing still, and he had to be lined up really well for a double tap.

OK, that does make sense.

Meh, having him look at her through the scope as often as they did was still annoying.
I wasn't really bothered by it, I've been plenty of scenes like that in other stuff.

Tonight I learned that Duncan Pow (Melshi) once worked on British home shopping television.

That man can sell anything, whether a talking doll or freedom!!

I like rebels a fair bit, actually. But I also recognize it for what it is: a relatively light children's show. In terms of its tone and sensibilities, it is wildly different than Andor and, as such, it should be kept as far away from it as possible.

Which was before the Clone Wars.
The only way that makes sense is to interpret it as meaning he's been "in the fight" since whatever happened to Kenari.
The "six years old" line rang false to me when I first saw Rogue One and even more now that we actually know just about everything about Cassian's upbringing. Whatevs.

Same with Dedra being raised in an "Imperial kinderblock" when she's too old to have been a child during basically any part of the Imperial era unless her Republic kinderblock switched to being an Imperial one just before she hit her 18th birthday (and she's a fair bit younger than the actress that plays her.)
