I am not sure why 2 and 3 year old really need new episodes. It's not like they care about HD quality and all that.
The producers of this program may see it as a debt to the American people to continue it, since it's been running for years. They may also think that since the production company only produces one program, if we cancel it, the company will be forced to shut down. Incidentally, there was a Turkish adaptation of this program in the late '80s. While the American version aired a 40th-anniversary special in 2009 in 140 countries, it wasn't broadcast in our country at all.I am not sure why 2 and 3 year old really need new episodes. Don't forget the adults that grew up with it. We're all kids at heart afterall! Old Sesame Street is some powerful nostalgia.
You're on point. One of the reasons that I introduced my children to Sesame Street was that I wanted to watch it with them.![]()
Same for me. My kids (daughter especially) loved it and now I get to spend my Friday mornings watching it (and lots of Bluey) with my three year-old grandson. That's rather sweet! And I'm sure the old episodes are just as good at teaching as they used to be.
