And the Next Cancelled Show is...

Or a true crime podcaster! Oh, wait, they're already doing that show on Apple+
Yeaaahh...I stuck that one out mostly for the terrific cast but that was pretty rough. The weird part is Sarah Koenig was a consultant on the show but I'm not sure how much they listened to her. There were a lot truly un-journalistic things that Poppy did that I can't imagine Sarah would ever do or condone.

Oh well. They can't be all winners, although doesn't seem like their TV shows are doing much for Apple. I did enjoy For All Mankind enough.

I loved For All Mankind and mostly enjoyed The Morning Show, but I haven't bothered with anything else.

Anything else? I thought those two shows were all Apple+ had.
Just the four that have already been mentioned and Servant (hard pass!) and Dickinson (as a huge Emily Dickinson fan, you'd think it'd be all over this one and yet...), but they have a lot more in the pipeline.

I don't watch the show, but it looks like Ray Donovan got cancelled without any resolution because they didn't know season 7 was going to be their last.

I don't watch it either, but damn that sucks, even if they got seven seasons (which is a lot more than many other prematurely canceled shows).

Shows lasting this long and not getting a conclusion should be a Federal offence. One of the reasons I watch so much less Live TV than I used too is I was sick of shows being cancelled with no ending. I wait for endings and then blast through them via Prime, Netflix etc.

I think Ray Donovan they could allow the show a extra 4 episodes or so or a movie. I don't watch the show either but with that amount of time I suspect they will find away to make it work somehow.

Sex Education on Netflix was renewed! A renewed Netflix show!!!
Also The Good Doctor has been renewed too.

Also CSI might be coming back.

A bunch on the way, including Amazing Stories next month and Foundation. As far as I can see they are well ahead of Disney+ where it comes to new content.
I loved Amazing Stories when it was on TV in the 80s.
I loved the old magazine too. When I was a teenager I tried to save money when I could to by it when TSR was publishing it. There were some good sci fi magazines that decade, Aboriginal SF, F&SF, and Azimov's when Gardner was editing, but I'll always love the old TSR era of Amazing.

That's not so rare. I'd panic at the 3rd season though. That's when they normally get the axe. With The Crown, I've heard that they've since had to change their original plan. I think they've meant to go on for at least 8 seasons, but I was told they've had to change their expectations and end sooner than they've wanted and already announced the next round of actors. I don't know if that means the 3rd season hasn't been as well received as the first two.

Why? Are they afraid they've run out of '80s shows to reboot? There's still Simon & Simon and Murder She Wrote, and then there's the '90s that haven't been tapped yet... Father Dowling, Diagnosis Murder, Early Edition...

80's? There's still the likes of Riptide, The Fall Guy, Hardcastle and McCormick, Spenser for Hire and maybe even Mike Hammer as available IPs while their waiting to pry Murder She Wrote out of Angela Landsbury's cold dead hands.

Murder, She Tweeted coming this fall to the CW.
