And the Next Cancelled Show is...

I heard about Code8 but didn't even know it was already out in movie theaters. I think I do recall Extinct but I was worried it might be all super religious in a bad Pureflix kind of way with it being on BYUTV. Well that and I am surprised they could even come up with a budget to make something good.

Code8 was released last month. Extinct turned out not to be particularly religious as far as I could tell, and it was a post-apocalyptic series and they used their budget effectively and judiciously limited as it was. I found it was worth my time.

Mindhunter has 97% been canceled. It's not officially canceled, it's just going to be on hold forever and the cast has all been let out of their contracts.

Let me guess. After season 3 when they like to cancel their shows?

It only got two seasons. Everyone figured it would get a third and final season. But nope, it's dead. The creator is like "I'm busy with movies" and Netflix is like 'it's not canceled', but once you let the cast go the longer you wait the less likely anything will happen.

Mindhunter was a big meh for me. I'm not sorry to see it go. The first season was all build up to the final couple of minutes when our characters were finally, FINALLY put into jeopardy. If I want something slow moving and dull, I'll watch Masterpiece Theater.

Funny, no one is calling The Mandalorian or The Expanse to not be renewed because of the risk of "watering it down", but run something on HBO and...

It has nothing to do with the network and all to do with the structure of the single season of Watchmen. Everything was set up, explored, and resolved throughout and by the end of the season. The only way I could see it continuing is following the Fargo method, anthology but loosely connected.

...and aside from Baby Yoda and the visuals, I'm rather meh on The Mandalorian. :p
