Yeah, there's a lot out there, which is why you wouldn't hear about (and then remember) everything. 2019 actually set a new record of 532 scripted TV series, not even counting Reality shows, daytime dramas or Children's TV.
I heard about Code8 but didn't even know it was already out in movie theaters. I think I do recall Extinct but I was worried it might be all super religious in a bad Pureflix kind of way with it being on BYUTV. Well that and I am surprised they could even come up with a budget to make something good.

It has nothing to do with the network and all to do with the structure of the single season of Watchmen. Everything was set up, explored, and resolved throughout and by the end of the season.
