And the Next Cancelled Show is...

At the time there were no reruns or syndication.

Shit just aired and vanished, never to be seen again.

My youth was like a time bubble where the 1950s continued on unabated.

Run time for shows was also longer - early 80s it was around 49mins for 1 hours time slot. Late 80s/early90s say TNG's run it was 45mins. Early 2000s for Enterprise and we're down to 42mins.
Don't forget that TNG was a syndicated show from the get-go. So they were trying to provide as much ad time as possible. Whereas if TNG was a network show, you would've been looking at probably 48 minutes (I think MacGyver of that era was 48 minutes in length).

TNG wasn't just syndicated... It was given away for free, in return for future ad-spaces that hadn't happened yet. Also the stations that didn't air TNG were black-listed from continuing to buy and syndicate the very profitable TOS reruns.

This is about money, not morality.

The equivalence is that 50 states have to refuse to hand over their Federal taxes until Trump is removed.

I'm assuming that Time After Time was cancelled since it just sort of disappeared. It sucked, but I kind of liked it.
I did like Timeless though, no word it that one is coming back.

Yep... Unceremoniously yanked from the schedule, which sucks, because I was actually starting to really get into it. Sigh...

They aired 5 episodes in 4 weeks.

It's possible that international pre-sales will be honoured, and the unaired episodes will make their way online at some point, which hasn't happened yet, and might never.

Stupid to put an SF show up against "Walking Dead" (although I can't think of a science you could torture sufficiently to explain walkers). Then yank it just as TWD is finishing its season.

The current president of ABC is a dumbass who has no clue what the hell she is doing.

The last guy was an idiot too, but he at least learned from his mistakes. ABC's biggest hit in the drama department in the last few years is Designated Survivor and that will have 4-5 show runners in 22 episodes.

They picked up the incredibly stupid sequel to Romeo and Juliet and then burn it off in the summer which makes no sense to me at all.

Also Powerless has been canceled.
