And the Next Cancelled Show is...

God DAMN IT. It was finally getting somewhere. :brickwall:

Yeah and I feel like it was finally wrapping itself up. One more season would have killed them? The ratings have actually been very staple.

Falling Skies got 5 seasons and no one had a fucking plan at all for that horrible mess of a show.

This is why I rarely start new shows these days because they just get cancelled without an ending. I have so many shows I want to watch but they are all pending as I wait to see if they ever get cancelled. Thanks to streaming services I can blast a 5-7 season show in mere weeks or months :techman: so waiting years to watch something isn't as bad as it used to be.

I'm several episodes behind but we did get some serious answers to why the aliens invaded and are using humans so I'm thankful I watched and enjoyed it.

TIMELESS (sorta) Uncancelled Again!
They're going to make a two part finale to be broadcast around the holidays.

Sorta Correction: It's a two hour finale/movie.

Now you see that trying to guilt networks into more paychecks with a sneaky cliffhanger actually can work sometimes. I see many people laughing their way to the bank.:) I of course look forward to it and the cliffhanger that it also ends on.

Thought we did.

the team on Atlantis beat the bad guys, spend a bit of time on earth than head back to the far side of the galaxy.
When was that last part revealed? On the show, they had crash landed on Earth, but it wasn't clear if the public saw it or not...

PLus I recall them talking about how they were able to get the force field up before landing. Can only wonder what cover story they used to keep boats away or people driving on the bridge and looking down as people leave the ship or other people arrive to come aboard.

Yeah I thought Atlantis got worse as it went along, but I liked the last episode besides the city being so insanely close to a populated area.

The biggest problem I had with Atlantis was that it wholeheartedly embraced the typical Trekkian and general science fiction cliches in precisely the same way that SG1 and Colonel O'Neill mocked them. Even the branch-colored uniforms were a Trek rip-off. The stories were okay and the occasional crossovers with SG1 characters were fun, but it was a lot more hokey and melodramatic than I thInk it should have been. SG1 was, on the whole, a superior show, IMO. When those characters were in trouble, you really got a sense of real jeopardy that I found completely lacking in Atlantis.

As for SGU, it was clearly trying to exploit the post-BSG grimdark bandwagon that was already on its way out the door thanks to audience fatigue against that particular trope by the time SGU started. I think, as a show, it had a lot of potential and was killed far too quickly. However, they terminally suffered from having a number of irredeemably unlikeable characters and stuck on a starship moving in such a way that it would be difficult to do a major cast shift to fix all the problems, especially when it got to traveling in the void between galaxies.
