An idea: HEROES of the 23rd Century

What do y'all think of this idea? A Heroes/Trek crossover, set in the 23rd century, Kirk's era, and written in an episode/season format. I plan to stick to each characters' initial consept and personality, but changed to meet the standards of the Trekverse. Thoughts? Comments? Ideas? Could it be done?

Could work - but might be difficult to completely translate the concept to the Trek universe. I'm not sure all of the powers would translate naturally either - for example, Nathan, whose power is to fly wouldn't make as much sense if the show is set on a space station of a spaceship.

Yeah, Nathan was the only big problem I'd run into so far. I decided that, if he was, say, and Ambassador, that wouldn't be so big of a problem. But then there are others like Micah, who's powers work perfectly in the Treckverse. I have the starting points of about five of the characters plotted at this point, and I've started episode one.

Any ideas by anyone of what to do with DL, Nikki and Micah, and Claire/Bennet Family (Noah/H.R.G excluded)?

You could make DL a smuggler and Nikki and Micah his family who lives onboard his ship, and you could make Noah/HRG a member of Section 31 who keeps his job a secret from his own family.

In your HEROES/Star Trek Universe, Section 31 could take the place of the Company.

You are talking about a fusion rather than a true crossover. It could be interesting.

I was thinking that it might be interesting to leave the Heroes characters in the past and have mostly original characters in the future. For example powers could become more and more widespread until it is common for the whole human race to have some kind of ability by the 23rd century. It would make for some interesting interaction with other races who might be jealous over what the humans can do. Imagine what a civilization with such wide spread abilities could build. there architecture might be different for people who can super speed, fly, or teleport.

Also someone like Claire Bennett who is immortal might be interesting the have around. Think of what she could be like after all that time. WW3, first contact, early space exploration, the Romulan War, the founding of the Federation. She would not be the sweet naive cheerleader anymore. I could imagine a cross of the grandmother type who the world has passed by and a cynical survivor type hidden behind a teenage face.

That's a great idea, thanks! Section 31 would be perfect as the Company! And thats a good idea for DL and family, too. :techman:

^ Well, the way i see it, it wouldnt be all that interesting if i just take HEROES and move it to Trek. however, i do intend to stick to the season plotlines somewhat, without the characters all over the map.

If there was some sort of sciencey explanation for the abilities ("accellerated" cells for regeneration, electomagnetic brainwaves for telekinesis, etc.), then heck yeah! And it would filter out a lot of the characters I don't really like, since they would die off as the centuries pass. We'd be left with Sylar (WHOO!), Claire (Bleh), maybe Peter (meh), and maybe some time-traveling Hiro, if he gets better (YATTA!). Perhaps some ancient alien interference with genetic engineering is responsible for these abilities, and everyone wants to get to the bottom of it.

That would be pretty awesome! Despite my fanfiction phobia, I would definitely give this a read!

^ That's true. I've started the first episode, so I'll post it when it's done in it's very own thread. If it turns out good, and there is a good reception, I'll stick to that. If not, maybe I'll do what you suggest. :)

I love your idea with Micah, probably one of the most underrated characters in there! Season 3 had the beginning of a good idea with him, but the whole Rebel thing should've been a HUGE part of the plot. Maybe Hiro can transport him to the 23rd century. I'll just have to wait and see. I can't wait! (bouncing in chair)

^ Well, I sure hope I live up to your expectations! But I agree, Micah could have been so much bigger as REBEL, but they just didn't do it. It was rather disappointing. But in the 23rd century, Micah would be invaluable, with all the machines and whatnot.

If you're brave enough, you can also have me beta-read. I'm something of a grammar/sentence-structure nazi. XD
