An end-of-life care question...

{{{{{{{peachie}}}}}}}
I'm so sorry for your loss. Please, give your dad a huge hug from all of us, too, and a thumbs up: you did the absolutely right thing.

That harp music is a lovely idea. I want that, too, when I'll be in hospice!

Aw, Peach, I'm so sorry. :( You and your dad have been through a lot. I'm glad the end was peaceful and painless and that your dad was with her. It will be hard on you for a while, and there will be a lot of grief-- but there will also be relief and you shouldn't feel bad about that. After watching a loved one go through all that, it's normal to feel relieved, both for them and for yourself. It's just another part of loving them.

This has been a hell of a year so far. A good friend of mine lost his dad just a few weeks ago (and it started with that same swallowing problem), and another good friend is arranging for hospice for her dad right now (she was just planning to move in with him to help out, because thought he'd be coming home up until about a week ago). I hope the rest of the year is better than this.
