An AMERICAN apologizes

^ I feel the same way. And for that reason, I've not watched an awards show in a few years. Especially when it comes to music. The Oscars are a bit better because usually the movies up for Best Picture are good movies, even if I don't agree with the eventual choice.

But the music awards?

Meh. Maybe I'll start watching them when music becomes decent again.

I didn't watch the AMV awards this year or any other year for that matter. And I'm under 30 years of age myself. I did, however, catch something on the news about Adam Lambert and what he did at the awards. Can I say..APPALLING?! That was hideous!!! Sorry to say but he's way too much of a drag queen and I'm glad that Kris Allen won AI this year.
As for that "Lizzie Miguire" comment, I really like Hilary Duff myself and think that she can sing..alot better than Miley Cyrus! But you are entitled to your own opinions about her..she's gorgeous and is very talented IMHO and I really like her music. At least now she has some meat on her bones. She used to be all bones and teeth. I think she's now on a TV show..can't remember the name.."Gossip Girl" I think. I don't know..not a "Gossip Girl" fan at all..it's funny cause I'm a female and loathe soap operas in general. Most of my friends at college loved soap operas. I was the odd girl out. :D

maybe someone could see fit to tell me what he is meant to have done?

Simulated oral sex onstage, kissed a male drummer, grabbed his crotch, felt up dancers.
Something that female singers have done for years without this much controversy.

Except for a few isolated instances, I haven't cared about an award show since Star Wars lost the Best Picture Oscar. :(

I wouldn't get too upset guys. Most of these 'artists' will be forgotten about a year from now.

um semes like he knows which buttons to push in US society, great way to get cheap publicity and doing something im guessing his fans approve of him doing.

Interesting that its not been in international news like say Janet Jackson Superbowl (however to be fair that did air around the wold, but its not like anyone was watching)

...... Interesting that its not been in international news like say Janet Jackson Superbowl (however to be fair that did air around the wold, but its not like anyone was watching)

To be fair, that incident with Janet only got about half a day's worth of coverage where I live. Everything else here was moreso reports focusing on how much Americans got all riled up and how big of a deal they were making over it, thus it no longer became a continued report on Janet's actions, but the actions of the American Public over those actions when so many other important things were going on in the world.

Quite honestly, it was only the people in the US who continued to make a big deal out of it. It wasn't even a hot topic the day after it happened. I remember myself and others hearing about the boob incident, had a bit of a chuckle and that was it...... then I turn on the US news like CNN and the sort, and it's all everybody was talking about for weeks on end.... like holy crap, move on.

I love Adam Lambert...

http://tv.yahoo.com/news/article/tv...adam-lambert-outrage-not-babysitter-performer

"I'm not a babysitter, I'm a performer," Lambert said Wednesday on The Early Show. "Honestly, [children] didn't cross my mind. It was almost 11 o'clock, it was a night show, I was there with an audience full of mostly adults. Sometimes I forget, 'Oh, there's a camera on.' I'm come from the theater, and I'm programmed to look at who's in the live audience."
So what would he do differently if given a do-over? "I would sing it a little bit better."
He really did nail the hypocracy surrounding all of the "outrage", didn't he?. And good for him for having the balls to refuse to give one of those fake apologies we see so often these days.

Lady Gaga may very well be Madonna wannabe which only proves that she is aware of "shiny object syndrome", which affects the choices of so many pop music fans.

Gaga doesn't need it though, or it seems to me. She appears to have some real vocal and musical talent. But she could have gone without all the flash and theatrics, Alicia Keys did, and she is pretty big.
