An Alien Captain The Next Step?

I agree. We've seen nearly every variation of human as guest Captain of a Starfleet ship, but not the lead in a series or movie. With the next president, or at least the first party candidate a woman, it's probably time for another woman to head a series, and possibly a non European decent human woman. Course you could cheat as make her Bajoran, Batazeid or a dozen other essentially European decent women. She would be alien.
