i'm also not happy with cutting out whole events because they ran out of time. here's a way to save some time, don't do a pre-event interview AND post-event interview with the competitors for every event.
And now, proof that strong women can be beautiful: CRUSH

I've been enjoying this with my room mates as our guilty pleasure since it started this spring. This latest episode gave us the best contender for a new gladiator we've seen yet this summer with a guy who literally takes down pretty much every gladiator he is put up against (except Titan, who stops him like a pinto running into a freight train) and is also fast enough to finish the Eliminator with one of the better times of the season.
My biggest complaint on the show, other than couple of dumb events is the eliminator. Not only is it too highly reliant on speed (thus giving us Rocket and Jet last season) but things like the sagging stretchy "rope swing" are just awkward and serve no purpose. We need to get gladiators in the way at some point (evenly matched ones please, I don't want to see Justice and Zen matched up with the contenders when one is obviously stronger and one is obviously faster, and they really need to take that into consideration on some of these events) and other strength-based aspects.
Overall I've disliked the gimmicks of this latest season. I don't need to hear every 5 minutes how much weight these people have lost, I don't want to see a guy missing his leg struggle through the eliminator, etc. Want to give me a gimmick show? Gladiator vs. Gladiator(to see who gets to come back next season maybe, or perhaps bring some of the classic guys back to face off with the new ones). Real Athletes vs. Gladiators. Celebrities vs. Gladiators. Otherwise I want the best people they can find on the show, not some crying little twerp who made it in just cause he lost 100 lbs.
Nitro seemed pretty kick ass, without being a roid-guy!
A friend of a friend's mom was a Gladiator... But I really don't remember which one she was... Nice woman tho, the 1 time I met her
Men: Nitro, Turbo and HawkWho were your favorite old gladiators from the original show everyone?
They had a mini-marathon on MTV yesterday, which my dvr recorded.
Yeah, the episodes seem oddly timed. And the interviews are BORING... "I'm going to do the best I can" and "I want to thank my family who is here supporting me"
BLAH BLAH BLAH
Gimme fuel, gimme fire... gimme that which i desire
And I desire ACTION!
They tried to combine the two into a single game but the only name they could come up with was "Asswipe" and NBC nixed it.Why are we seeing Sideswipe so much and not Assault?
Tonight was probably the first time I actually got annoyed watching this show. I mean you have this 52 year old who shouldn't be there in the first place spouting out the same crap again and we still haven't seen Skytrack other than the first few times when the show was still 90 minutes. The guys were much more exciting than the girls and the girls were just damn annoying. I'm still interested, but this show is really trying my patience lately. Why are we seeing Sideswipe so much and not Assault? Sideswipe is pretty much just hit and run on steroids (Given some of these gladiators, that might not be a bad comparison) and I really don't care what these people have to say. It's interesting that Skytrack started out as one of my favorite events and it's regulated to NBC.com status. God I wish NBC would cancel Nashville Star (Which I did try to like but just couldn't because John Rich is an idiot, even though I like Big & Rich) and put this show on for 90 minutes again or something. When we get to the semifinals, we probably will still be skipping events just to hear "Failure is not an option" and crap like that.
Gladiatormanics did it for me...Agreed. They need to cut the dialog and the so called "Trash Talk" by the contestants, and kill Hogan and Ali as host, then we MAY have a great show.
Is he last seasons champion? WOW!BTW: Last season's champion "Rocket" is fast and is freaking awesome. Too bad this season the winners don't automatically become Gladiators.
I thought they automatically got the option to become a new gladiator... Are you sure about this? They didn't automatically become Gladiators last season too, they kept talking about "a chance to become a new American Gladiator."
Well, IIRC, the show isn't filmed once per week... They are filmed in a pretty short span of time and then aired over the "season" so it's not like you have to move the family to LA and the such...One can assume that they were willing to move their families down to LA and engage in a hardcore workout regiment, sign contracts, etc. All of that is optional for them after winning, and they have to show that they deserve the spot.
