AMC Green Light's Kevin Smith's "Secret Stash"

I'm surprised that AMC, a pretty decent purveyor of fine tv shows, would greenlight something like this.

Overrated Kevin Smith hasn't really ever done anything significant. I guess Clerks would be the closest thing he has to something notable, but even that wasn't what I'd call a meaningful contribution to film. I guess if you like laughably self important assholes complaining about their lot in life that they created for themselves, then it would be.

I mean Mallrats? C'mon man. Chasing Amy? C'mon man. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? C'MON MAN.

So now we're just going to be subjected to more painful dialogue that tries so very hard to be hip in one of the more un-hip places you can be, a comic book store. The whole thing just doesn't mesh well, much like all of overrated Kevin Smith's work. But hey, maybe we'll get a Jay and Silent Bob cameo out of it, so it's totally worth it amirite?

How overrated Kevin Smith manages to get jobs, and be paid well for them, still remains one of life's great mysteries.

Hopefully it tanks and paves the way for AMC to bring us better shows.

He gets jobs because *gasp* opinions are subjective and *double gasp* people like him and his works. Sure, he's had a couple of misfires, but I find his filmography mostly enjoyable, and I very much like his Q&A shows and podcasts.

I hope this succeeds, firstly so the people who enjoy it can watch it, and secondly because it'll annoy the hell out of selfish people like you.

You're confusing the public's willingness to be spoonfed mindless bullshit that they mistakingly identify with and actual talent at making films/tv shows that are viewed because they are worthy of being watched. Overrated Kevin Smith's pieces of art fall in to the former.

Well that's not very nice. I wish you nothing but the best. It won't annoy me though as I won't be watching it, like millions of others won't be, and will soon become a cancelled afterthought to be hung on overrated Kevin Smith's Wall of Shame. Gasp.

Kevin is the executive producer of this and owns the store it takes place in of course. It's not surprising to me that AMC would green light a series that reaches out to it's continued growing audience. It is wise as well that this is airing after "The Walking Dead" which is a show based on a comic book after all. This is only six episodes, and is targeted towards a very specific audience...comic book geeks...like myself. It's a show about nerds discussing nerd topics. I don't get the rant against Kevin at all. It's not like this is a show or a film he wrote.

I called you selfish, and stand by that appraisal, because even though you have absolutely no intention of watching this, you still want it taken off the air. You would choose to deprive other people of something they may enjoy, simply because it's something that you don't want to watch. That's selfish.

I mean, Dogma? Come on!

Oh, wait that one was actually pretty damn good.

Not really, I said I hoped it tanks so it can pave the way for better shows from AMC. I'm wanting the best for everyone here, including misguided overrated Kevin Smith fans.

Really? Obligatory Matt Damon and Ben Affleck? Alanis Morissette as God? Smug views on religion, like it hasn't been done before? Yet another Jay and Silent Bob appearance? C'MON MAN.

The one thing I will give credit to Jay and Silent Bob for is recreating Buffalo Bill's "Goodbye Horses" routine in Clerks 2.

Misguided overrated Kevin Smith fans? Way to be judgemental. You're clearly not a fan and that is fine but again this isn't a typical television series or film from Smith. As I said it was wise of AMC to slot it after "The Walking Dead" which is based on a comic book. I'm not saying this will be a good show or not...but I really don't see the need for a debate about Smith's previous work since all he is doing in this show is talking about comics with his friends, which most of us do when we're at a comic shop.

My troll sense is tingling. Well played sir.

It's over-rated Garak, whose opinions are over-rated in his own mind and under-rated in everyone else's.

Jesus H. Christ. I love Kevin Smith more often than I hate him, hell, I've even seen him live on stage, but holy shit the guy can talk and the inteviewer can put it up in wall-o-text mode.

That's a LOOOOOONG ass interview.

The show was mildly amusing (and I'm not a Kevin Smith fan), but not sure how sustainable it is. I'm hoping for more customer interaction in future episodes, that was the best part imo.

I'm up to the woman with the Chucky doll and I'm really enjoying it so far. The interactions with the customers are interesting and they have a natural chemistry on camera. I'll carry on watching.
