Amazon sale

I just ordered season three. I hope these prices stay low for a while.

Oh season 3 is good. :) I bought that four or five months ago. I'm just glad they have gone down in price. Now maybe I can own the whole series. I have years 2,3,and 6 and now I'll have year 5 pretty soon. Hopefully I'll get years 4, 1, and 7 later on down the line. :) I was just taken aback because I didn't know the prices were that low yet!!! :) I was gonna order year 5 from gohastings.com but I'm certainly glad I looked on amazon.com! :)

Yeah, I remember season three being one of my favorites, along with 1 and 4, when I first watched the series. When they dropped the price to $70 MSR, I picked up 1 and 2 with a bit of a discount but not this much. I ended up enjoying 2 a little more than I remembered, so I'm looking forward to seeing 3 again. I hope to get the rest of the series before the year is out, and maybe at least get started on Enterprise.

I have an odd question.

Why do you guys buy your seasons out of order?

I'm buying Voyager in order, but there's no reason to buy a series in order (IMO) if it's highly episodic in nature and you like later episodes more than earlier ones. For example, I bought TNG out of order (I went 5, 4, 6, 1, 3, 2, 7) because I wasn't in a hurry to see some of the early stinkers again and I really liked the later seasons. Watching TNG out of order has little impact, particularly if you've seen it all before already.

On the other hand, I bought DS9 strictly in order, even though I'd seen all of it before too. I still wanted to preserve the experience of seeing the progression of events since it's much more important to that show.

I'm buying VOY in order because I happen to like the earlier seasons better, but if I liked the later seasons better I might skip around.

Cool!

Thanks for the explaination.:)

I buy them out of order cause it just happened. I found my first DVD set at Hastings one afternoon and couldn't pass it up!!!! Then I started buying the series out of order. :)

i did the same thing with Stargate SG-1.

I saw these prices and just could not believe it. I bought five this morning. I have been watching my old VHS tapes for years and have been happy to do so, but for $35 a season, it is crazy not to pick up a few of these. The extras alone are worth the price.

Oh yeah! I LOVE the extras!!!!!! I've always enjoyed the interviews. I remember buying Season 6 at Hastings one afternoon for about $50 and couldn't get over the quality of the episodes and the special features! I just loved the special features of Voy. My favorites are the ones with Robbie McNeill and him telling the story of how he burned a hole in his pants when he was filming "30 days". :) I'm actually getting this season hopefully either this week or next week. I just cracked up! :)

^ The interviews were great. I do wish they had done commentaries though. I love commentaries. :)

Oh yeah! Commentaries always rock!!!! I love listening to them. :) I finally got year five today of Voyager and really enjoyed the interviews and the episodes from this season. Don't hate me, but I rewatched The Fight again and thought: man, that's bad acting!!!!! I couldn't watch the whole ep all the way through. I had to go to another episode. Anyway, I wouldn't have minded the commentaries either.

My copy of season three arrived yesterday. It came with a bonus disc with additional features. I thought those were a Best Buy exclusive - was I wrong? Or has Amazon recently acquired some BB overstock (perhaps explaining the massive sales taking place)?

I got that disc, too--
Actually, I never see Trek at my local Best Buy anymore, Amazon seems like the only place to get it.

The bonus disc comes with it as a gift I think. The only place I've seen the Voyager DVD sets are Barnes and Noble and possibly Hastings. But they run out of them fast for some reason. Hope you're enjoying your season 3 set as I have!!!! :) I'm SLOWLY getting into watching year 5. I just like the eps without all the cut outs that SpikeTV does. That drives me nuts! Anyone else notice that?!

I've already bought the mostly excellent Season Five, but sadly Season Four always seems to fly off the shelf (like NuWho's S1 boxset) before I can buy it, while Season Three (which is 60% shit) seems too easy to come by.:o
