Amazing Race: Unfinished Business starts tonight!

Remember, the new season of the Amazing Race starts tonight! And (as the subtitle may imply), it features teams from previous seasons.

The returning teams:
From Season 12:
- Ronald & Christina Hsu, father & daughter, 2nd place
- Kent Kaliber & Vyxsin Fiala, dating goths, 5th place

From Season 14:
- Margie & Luke Adams, mother & son, 3rd place
- Amanda Blackledge & Kris Klicka, engaged (dating in Season 14), 8th place
- Jaime Edmondson & Cara Rosenthal, former cheerleaders for the Miami Dolphins, 2nd place
- LaKisha & Jennifer Hoffman, sisters, 4th place
- Mel & Mike White, father & son, 6th place

From Season 15:
- Zev Glassenberg & Justin Kanew, best friends, 9th place
- Herb "Flight Time" Lang & Nate "Big Easy" Lofton, Harlem Globetrotters, 4th place

From Season 16:
- Jet & Cord McCoy, brothers & cowboys, 2nd place

From Season 17:
- Gary & Mallory Ervin, father & daughter, 6th place

So, anyone have an early favourite team?
 
Thanks for the reminder. This show changes series titles every season (ala Survivor), so I had to add in an new DVR series recording (with the usual two-hour recording time because this show gets delayed more than anything else on tv).
 
The cheerleaders are back? I'm in. :drool:

Seriously, though, that looks like a pretty solid cast. I got bored by last season and tuned out early, so hopefully this one turns out better.
 
I hate the U-Turn, but I do like the way it was used here. The race should be in the racers hands, not in another racers hands. If you're going to have a penalty, it should be on your own doing and I like that.

I do like the cast. Who was the group that had the permit trouble in one year. Are they back?
 
They are spending a whole day in Vienna at some point, I wish I had known beforehand, I would've come watch. I hope the people didn't embarrass themselves too much. ;)
 
Still want the father-daughter team to win. :)

Also, looking forward to TAR Australia, whenever that happens!

Edit: haw, awesome butt slap at the end of the episode.

I was out last night and DVR'd it. I'll try to watch sometime today. I'm rooting for the Globetrotters. Every year my dad, my son and I see the Globetrotters, and my son has met Flight Time several times. He's a very cool guy, and great with kids.
 
Nice first episode, looking forward to a good season. I'm not all that pleased with some of the team choices though. First off I can't stand Margie and Luke, but I understand why they were asked back. I don't understand why Amanda and Kris were asked back, I really don't even remember them from their season. Ron and Christina and Mel and Mike seemed like two odd choices as well.

I'm still annoyed that they didn't bring back, or even ask them if they wanted to come back, Toni and Dallas. They are my favorite Amazing Race team ever, and their chances of winning were so good before they lost their passports. It seems like the perfect second chance story to bring back this season, especially because they are such a popular team. But instead they brought NO teams from season 13, and way too many from season 14. Strange!

The only teams racing this time around that I really cared about from their first seasons are Gary and Mallory and Zev and Justin. Hope they do well!
 
The teams I like the most are Jet and Cord, Zev and Justin and Ron and Christina. The only team I really don't like is Margie and Luke.

Good first episode. I liked how they had to work a little to get on the first flight (not that it helped out in the end). Thought it was funny when one team brought up a sign for Pan Am- that airline went belly up ages ago.

I also like that they started with a double leg so there's more racing skills and less luck involved in staying in at the start. Just hope the second part of the leg is long enough to allow one of my favorite teams to battle their way back.
 
I agree about too many teams from Season 14. If any recent team falls into the "unfinished business" category, it would be Eric & Lisa from Season 15. They were the ones with the unfortunate luck of being eliminated in that stupid pre-race task at the very beginning, so they never even got the chance to race at all. They even looked like they'd be a good competitive team, too. But this season is also about "popular" teams, and since Eric & Lisa never got any screen time, they couldn't possibly be considered popular.

As for teams I like going in, I'm rooting for Gary & Mallory and Amanda & Kris. The Goths look like fun too.
 
Why so much hate for my favorite team, Margie and Luke? I'm totally rooting for them, and hope Luke ... well, Margie and Luke, make it to the end this time.
 
^They just seem like a rather rude team. When they had that "fight" with Keisha and Jen, I was definitely on the Keisha and Jen side. His mom seems to like to play the deaf card - assuming that everything mean or bad that people say or do to them is all because they don't respect that her son has a disability. It just gets irritating to watch.
 
You are SO right about THAT.

HATE that kind of double standard thing. It's like the midget chick a few years back - remember her, "I can do ANYTHING any normal sized person can do!!!" until she COULDN'T and then she and her horrible New Jersey lawyer cousin played the midget sympathy card to get their way.

Reprehensible.

Add to the fact that Luke seems like a spoiled, indulged whiny man-brat. We just call Margie and Luke "Team Feeb".
 
I hope the following teams lose because I can't stand them:

Luke and his mom - He is a butt and I don't feel sorry for him just because he is deaf.

Zev and Justin - Plain creepy

Gary and Mallroy - Her father came across to me as a racist when they were in Africa. The looks he gave those folks overthere were nasty and I didn't like her remark, "Ooo I get to hold little African babies now!" Like she was going to a zoo to hold a different species of animal. I hope they fail miserably.

Once these three teams are gone then I will be happy.
 
Wow, I was tricked by the editing and worried about the Chinese team for a moment. At least they're still in for now.

Japan should be fun next week. Hopefully they do a bit of a tour in Asia before jetting off to another continent!
 
Glad the cowboys made a comeback, but I'm wondering if I'm already getting tired of this season. I'm getting tired of Marge and Luke, Ron and Christina, and some of the other teams already and wish some of the teams they picked weren't "just" on the race like 2 years ago. Would have been nice to go back to the early days and get teams who people might not be familiar with if they just started watching.

Hopefully the season gets better, but after watching Survivor last night, I think Survivor is better of the two right now.
 
An equalizer this early in the season? This does not inspire confidence. At least I still have my team I can root for, Lukey and Marge.
