Amazing Race: Unfinished Business starts tonight!

I assumed the Globetrotters picked up the fanny pack by accident (thinking it was theirs) and left it in the changing hut so Ron would find it. They should have returned it to where they grabbed it, but I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to screw Ron and Christine.

I was assuming that they probably didn't even remember where they picked it up at, it was just sitting by a random rock. Ron and Christina only lost time because they stood around freaking out about it instead of looking for it in the changing room.

Of course they freaked out, the fanny pack had all their documents in it. The Globetrotters should have let them know where the stuff is, you can't just take a thing like that and then leave it somewhere without telling the owner in that situation, that was incredibly inconsiderate. It was their mistake, they should have taken the time to go back and tell Christina, and they should have been punished automatically, without Christina having to complain.

It's not like they hid it so they couldn't find it or something, they set it down with the rest of Ron's stuff, that seemed like a nice thing to do to me. It's likely what I would have done. I just don't see any malicious intent in what happened and I don't think there was any need for a penalty. If it was any team besides Ron and Christina, who like to stand around arguing about everything, they would have quickly searched the area, including the changing rooms, found it and moved on without giving it a second thought.

I'm not saying there was any malicious intent, the Globetrotters were just anxious to get to the finish and maybe a little lazy. I'm sure they didn't think anything of it, but they should have, and that's their mistake. Christina knew exactly where she put the thing, so of course she was shocked when it was missing; what's she supposed to think? Maybe she put it under some different tree? Maybe a monkey took it (;))? Or maybe the Globetrotters took it, which is the conclusion they came to anyway, but until then it was an unnecessary scare, and it's not fair to do that to a competitor.

(eta: btw. I don't think Christina and Ron messed around too long anyway, since the Globetrotters were finished with the task earlier and they still were less than 30 minutes ahead in the finish, but still, they were wrong and deserved the punishment. You don't do something like that)

That doesn't make any sense. They left it on the rock and then it was gone. Wouldn't you look around the rock first? And then try to figure out what happened to it? And if you come to the conclusion that the Globetrotters took it, why would you assume that they left it with Ron's stuff in the changing room?

^I'm saying that in that sort of situation, yes I would be freaked at first, but instead of standing there arguing with my partner I would quickly go on a search for it - to see if it got moved, if someone misplaced it. Obviously you would look around the rock first, but quickly realize its not there and start searching other logical locations. I think most of the other teams would have done this. Ron and Christina though, didn't even seem to go searching for it, they sort of just stood there arguing, then gave up and went to change, where they then found it. It seems to me that searching the nearby buildings would have been one of the first things to do.

I have to say I was shocked more teams didn't do the cleansing ritual. That looked much faster and easier than the frog-search.

I know the Roadblock doesn't explain what they have to do, but I thought the Detour did. But I'm probably wrong.

I was always under the impression that with Detours, they get roughly the same explanation that we do on TV. Otherwise how would people chose between two vaguely named tasks?

Maybe some of the teams thought the ritual would consist of detailed movements and chants and were worried they'd have trouble getting it right. On the earlier roadblock, it looked like the judges (or whatever) were being kind of picky- that might have scared them off a bit.

I'm very disappointed that the Cowboy brothers are doing so poorly. They seem to be making some big mistakes. I really liked them in their season, so I'm on the edge of my seat each time they do something poorly.

^ I liked them in their first appearance too, but they're rather uneven racers. They'll look brilliant in some legs, and terrible in others. I've cooled on them somewhat, though, since learning about Jet's homophobic attitudes.

*bump* for this week.

Wow, I can't believe they pulled the "you are still racing" thing again! I wonder if they decided they had to do that to give Kent & Vyxsin a chance after missing the flight.

And Ron just loves to eat doesn't he?

I can't stand Ron and Christina, really hope they go out soon.

I'm hoping they are doing this instead of the "you're the last team to check in, but surprise, you can stay and just do an extra task next time" episode stretchers they are so obsessed with.

I wish they'd go back to "the last team to check in WILL be eliminated" not "may be".

I'm starting to really not like this season. First off, Ron and Christina are annoying (more for Ron, as I feel sorry for Christina having to be stuck with him), and a few other teams are annoying to, like Marge and Luke (And it has nothing to do with the disability, let me be clear on that), Ron and Christina, and this week Zev and Justin. These are supposed to be experienced racers, and they are complaining complaining complaining.

Also, I hope having the second pit stop fake out in 4 weeks takes away the non-elimination legs. Let's start eliminating teams already. I mean they started with 11 teams, and in week 4 they have 9? What the heck? And I thought the Survivior Redemption Island season was going to be long, Amazing Race is going on forever. They probably did that to give Kent and Vyxin a chance, but so the heck what. Wasn't there a team (The woman was actually on Star Trek: TNG I remember) that was so far back, but they were still eliminated? It's your damn fault you missed the flight. Do something like that, you don't deserve the grand prize.

I might still watch the remainder of this season, but I think it might be time for Amazing Race to turn things up a bit in the next season. The show might be getting stale and it shouldn't because the places they go should make things unpredictable. Of course now they are repeating countries from a few seasons ago so maybe that might be some of the staleness.

I was very impressed with the way Kent and Vyxsin fought back from their initial mistake, but what the hell was Kent thinking letting Vyxsin do a task she clearly wasn't emotionally ready for that day? He has the patience of a saint though. ;)
