Amazing Race: Unfinished Business starts tonight!

God damn if I hear "Maa-maa!" Marley Matlin-style one more time......

Okay, I don't like Margie and Luke (she's overbearing, and he comes off as entitled because of it) but the dude has a disability. Not cool.

I think I'm pulling for Flight Time and Big Easy, myself. They're smart, strong, aggressive, and entertaining to boot. :techman:

It's more the fact that(and I said this last time he was on), he seems to have this indulged, coddled way about him and every time he says "MAA-MAA!!!" it just makes my spine stiffen.

I LOATHE indulged, spoilt children and, as I have said elsewhere, I hate handicapped people who "can do ANYTHING other people can do!"....until they CAN'T and then use sympathy for their condition to get assistance and thus an advantage over others.

See douchebag New Jersey lawyer and her midget cousin from several years ago.

So you have something personal against Luke, something you didn't get from the show. Are you bigoted against other handicapped people, or just ones on television?

Tulin is hardly the only person who doesn't like Margie and Luke, and I doubt we can blame it on bigotry for everyone.

Tulin specifically says, and I quote:

I hate handicapped people

I am asking if this is about one person in particular, or does Tulin have a bigoted attitude towards all handicapped people? From the words used, it seems pretty clear, and it's not exactly a shocking one.

Too many "normal" people display prejudice against those who are differently-abled. I became handicapped in November, and am still not fully healed. I experienced the attitude coming from bigoted people. It makes me wonder what makes the "normal" person so much better than the person they spend so much time hating.

I certainly lost all respect for the poster when I read that post.

My own personal reasons for disliking Luke have little to do with his handicap, but are more about how spoiled and childish he acts. I remember seeing him throw a tantrum or two in his first season and it really turned me off from rooting for him and his mom.

^ Same here. Margie annoys me too, for that matter. She really comes across as overbearing and a bit conniving at times.

OMG I've completely missed a new TAR season? Holy CRAP.

I'll have to program this on my DVR and see if I can watch the missed episodes so far. UGH, can't believe I've missed it already. This is my favorite reality show, Travel Porn at its finest.

CBS would probably have the episodes on their website, right? I can still watch the first two on CTV.ca, myself.

Something I don't understand is why doesn't CBS have Amazing Race On Demand. They have all thier other shows (Or most of them) On Demand but not the Amazing Race. Is it a directive from the studio company or what?

Yeah - THAT was ALL I said, wan't it?

Most SHOCKING "snip of a quote" I have seen in eleven years on a board.

ANYBODY who can read can see my original quote said a lot more than "I hate handicapped people".

Reprehensible, inflammatory and from hereon not worthy of my response.

Edited to add: I did read further on and understand you have suffered and are still suffering from some form of debilitation. From your previous posts I know you as a decent poster and thus I feel sympathy for you. It does however inform your over the top reaction to my reasoned and fully explained comment in my previous post. None of us are immune from over-reaction when it comes to personal matters. I strongly object to your hugely edited use of my post, however and would suggest some strong introspection before turning your own anger at your current situation into an attack on me.

Yeah, let's take the risky connecting flight instead of the guaranteed direct flight, all to save a measly fifteen minutes.

Yeah, knowing the perils of connecting flights, I would totally take the direct one. It's been my experience that flights can sometimes get in earlier than scheduled too, so that 6:15 could easily have been 6:00.

For the detour this time, I think I would have gone for the ceremony one. If there's one thing I've learned from the Amazing Race, it's to avoid the "search for this very specific small thing in a large area" tasks at all costs. :p

I think that was a totally shit thing to do of the Globetrotters, and really makes me like them less. It was an honest mistake at first, but it cost Christina and Ron time and a lot of nerves. Just leaving it in the hut, what were they thinking?

Did they actually show the Globetrotters taking the fanny pack and bringing it into the hut? I had to step out for a minute, so when I got back Ron and Christina were panicking because it was missing.

I'm inclined to think the Globetrotters just didn't think it would be that big a deal since they seemed to have left it with Ron's stuff, but like I said, I didn't see how it went down.

On another note, I'm glad Mike and Mel are gone. They were painful to watch. :ack:

Yes, Flight Time was shown taking the fanny pack, and apparently he and Big Easy even discussed what to do with it; when they left the hut to go to their car one said to the other "did you leave it in there?" and the other one answered "yes". Clearly they didn't think it was a big deal, but they should have known better, I mean Christina had her passport in there and all that stuff.
