Alternative to newegg?

I'm not sure in general, but I just found a wireless router on Amazon that was about $30 cheaper than on the company's own website.....

I've bought things from http://mwave.com without complaint. Amazon sells certain computer products. A lot of the PC parts I've bought over the years come from ebay. On occasion I have purchased things from more obscure online retailers found on Google product search like thenerds.net or endpcnoise.com.

When I don't want to buy used or I want the ability to return something, Newegg is the way to go IMO.

If you know exactly what you want, and you know it will be compatable etc then just Google the best price.

If you want a decent online store as a starting point, I have used Ncix which has a wide selection, decent price points, weekly specials and clearances and package deals.

I especially like their message boards which are informative, point out problems with certain hardware, what not to buy, how to fix an issue or which parts are compatable, etc.

Tiger Direct has been a good alternative, though my family & I have never had any problems at all with Newegg.
I used to be a regulaer customer of Tiger Direct but their prices are much higher than Newegg, the customer service is mediocre and they charge way too much for s/h. Newegg has more variety and they offer free shipping for a ton of their items and when they do charge for shipping it's fair and not jacked up. Also, I like the fact that most of their stuff comes frim their base in Whittier, CA which basically means I get overnight for free or the price of ground.

I had an experience with newegg where a card reader I had for aweek not only pwersurged and caught on fire but it destroyed my 8GB memory card as well. Yesterday, without any questions or need to even return anything, I was offered the option of a refund or replacement of the reader and the card.

They also gave me price adjustment of $20.00 on a monitor I bought a month go.

I like Newegg, they take care of me.

These all sound like good alternatives. I've used NewEgg and gotten decent prices for my laptop, printer, and camcorder. But it's always nice to have choices. -- RR

I agree.

The problem is that I don't like changing when I've experienced good service and prices because you never know what to expect with a new retailer.
