Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

Kind of a random thought. What happens to R2-D2 and C-3PO after The Rise of Skywalker? Their masters have died They have basically been in the service of the Skywalker and associated families for almost 70 years. Are they considered independent droids, or are they on retainer of the Republic successor government? Do they pass to Rey or another of the main characters?

That will be answered in DROIDS! Coming to Disneyplus in 2026! :)

My fave bit in that Rogue One fight is when Donnie Yen kicks up sand and one of the stormtroopers reacts as though he's hurt or blinded momentarily. :D

With the recent news about the next two Avengers movies getting delayed to December 2026 and 2027 respectively, and The Mandalorian and Grogu still set for May 2026, I kind of hope this is the start of Star Wars movies reclaiming their traditional May releases. They typically came out around the Memorial Day weekend, but in recent years the Marvel movies have been eating up all the box office with their early May releases.

They got to release something. I mean it's a corporation. They are always having to keep trying to bring in more money all the time.

Today Solo turns seven years old. I still like it, and I'll still defend the film. It's two hours of fanwank but it's deliciously fun fanwank. And Alden Ehrenreich sells his younger version of Han Solo, giving off believable Harrison Ford vibes while still doing his own thing.

I was harsh on Solo when I first saw it in theatres, but on rewatches I've actually ended up enjoying it. It probably should have had its release date postponed to allow for more work in light of the behind the scenes trouble it had, but, in spite of all that it is indeed a very good and very enjoyable movie.

Donald Glover as Lando is a definite highlight. I know pretty much everyone agrees, so saying that is a bit like stating the obvious, but it should be repeated all the same.
