Spoilers All Things STAR WARS - News, Speculation & Spoilers Thread

I doubt that Rey movie will ever be made. Didn't they already bump it down the schedule so they could fast track the Ryan Gosling movie? Time that movie is out, Kennedy will likely be gone and someone new will be put in charge developing projects she or he wants to do.

Well, they never gave it a release date, but they did announce it years before the Gosling movie, so, I guess you could say they bumped it down from a certain point of view... :p

I'd say there's at least 50% odds there'll be a Rey movie at some point. (How big a role Gosling would have in it, now, maybe that's the question. :rommie:)

My theory is the Ryan Gosling character will be sort of like Tony Stark was to the MCU. A foundation character to a bunch of new movies that connect but are also no longer reliant on the classic movies as much as most Trek has been under Kennedy. While they might not do another trilogy in the way we think of them, I could see them doing sequel movies to the Ryan Gosling movie, if it is a hit.

It just dawned on me while watching the video that Mon Mothma is the only member of the early Rebel leadership who actually survived to see the Empire defeated.
The Organas died on Alderaan, Luthen was killed by Kleya, and Draven and Dodonna both died at during The Battle of Mak-To in the comics.

Not quite. R2 and C-3PO were around and also Admiral Ackbar.

I'm pretty sure he was recruited in the comics between A New Hope & Empire Strikes Back.

R2 and C-3PO are hardly Rebel leadership.
Yeah, I don't think R2 and 3PO really had any role in the Rebellion until Leia hid the plans with R2, and even after that I don't know if they really took an active enough role in any of the missions and battles they were part of to be considered part of the Rebel leadership. They pretty much just got dragged along with Luke, Leia, and Han.

Yeah, turns out I was mistaken, I was thinking Leia recruited Ackbar during the Mutiny at Mon Cala storyline in the 2015 comic series, but I checked on Wookiepedia, and that was a different Mon Calamari, and Ackbar was already a part of the Rebellion at that point.
